Ok dears, I have an ugly problem. I was making a project in my machine, a Brother se270e and suddenly it sounded like a bip and said "The Security Device has been activated" and stop to work.

I have a brother too, same thing happened to me. It was a loose thread in the thread guide. Just gave it a flossing and cleaned the bobbin area. They get really fussy if the get a loose thread some place. Glad you were able to clear the problem.

letvia , Sorry to hear your bad news. As others have said I am thinking you have some thread or fabric down inside your machine. after taking off the plate and cleaning it out. if things don't correct themselves. Take it to the place you purchased it. My machine wouldn't work one time and my machine man told me that I had lint so far back in the machine that I would have never gotten it out on my own. Hope this is repaied soon. But I think you need a flower. I'll be thinking of you.

You have received good advise. If you have been doing many items, which we know you are, you may have lint in the bobbin area of the machine. Take the throat plate off and clean it - I have a small attachment for a vacuum that cleans this, but seem to always grab the brush. I keep it handy by my sewing area. I hope you were able to work through this error.

First of all don't use compressed air on your machine. Brother technician will tell you that. Just blows the offender farther into machine. I would be taking this machine to the tech. If it is making that kind of noise than something is wrong. If it is not something that you can see it is outside your area of expertise. The general drill is change needle, check bobbin and clean and rethread. start again. Otherwise.... sorry I couldn't be more help. let us know how you make out

letvia, I don't have a brother, but do have a babylock and they are similar - something is still in the bobbin area - a small piece of thread or dust accumulation - take the throat plate off and clean all the area that you can get to - do you have some of that compressed air or a small vacuum - it happens and you will not be able to hurt your machine - as it will not allow you to work with it - until you fix the situation. Stay calm and know - it happens to all of us and we all have to learn how to clean the machine up - you also must have a display on your screen that can HELP you - with this sort of thing - use your HELP screen and learn about your machine or read your manual - so that you can fix these small theings - when they occur. Let me know - how things worked out for you. *4U

Thank you Shirlene, it was some dust and thread in the bobbin area. And my husband was at home (he is my manual jajaja) and told me to look in the bobbin and I cleaned and then I finished my project that I will post in the project page. It is another towel for my oldest son Joseph. You will see it. Thank you. Flower ans XoXo

I removed the hoop from the machine and saw that the bobbin thread was stuck with the color thread. I cut it and fix the bobbin and start again, but this time the machine made an horrible sound and said again that the security device was activated, and the bobbin was stuck again. Does anybody know how bad is that? I don't want to use it again. I am afraid to damage it. HELP

Buena suerte!! Silvina
