There is a blind costume designer in the Columbus - Upper Arlington, Ohio area. Tried to do a search on her but was unable to locate the article. From what I remember she did Victorian/Renaissance costumes. My best friend lost all light vision and with her guide dog she flew for a visit. It was at Thanksgiving and she asked me what she could do to help. Mentioned peeling potatoes so I gave her a selection of knifes and she started peeling the potatoes. My daughter then 8 years old pull me aside and said, "What are you thinking giving her a knife." I told my daughter there isn't anything she can't do except drive a car. My friend hand sews quilt blocks together that her brother cuts and stacks and the quilt tops are taken to the Amish for the final feather and fancy quilting.
