from a Cutie asking me to email her the design. The message was very polite. The Cutie has been here a while and I feel probably does know that these designs are copywrited. I just dont know how to answer the message and feel it would be rude to ignore this Cutie.

well the link of these designs is given so I think you did just okay! perhaps she thought it were your own digitized designs.and now it's clear where to find and how to get them.

I have just replied to the Cutie in question stating that it is illegal to email designs to others and giving a link to where it can be purchased. I also told the Cutie that it was a beautiful design and well worth doing, and wished them well.
I did notice that the Cutie had been on this site today so hopefully they may have seen this post.

2713Besides all the advice below, you could advise her that there are several free heart alphas available, and dozens of freebie heart frames, that she could download and use to create the same effect herself.
She only needs to Google, "Heart alphabet embroidery design" or "Heart frame alphabet design"
Claws and paws has some lovely heart frames, really, really, inexpensive.
I just counted my freebie heart frames and found I have 34 that would be suitable to use for something like this.
In this way you would be helping her and she definitely could not be upset if you do that.

15874I think it lessons the negativity in the response if you answer generally something like this: To those who would like the design, it can be found at ...... If I had digitized it myself, I'd be happy to share it, but it's a copyrighted design. That shouldn't upset anyone :-)

59631Marley, I'm sure by now this person has seen this post, but I think you probably should have just answered her with a link to the website and let her know that what she is requesting is not legal. Being here a while doesn't necessarily mean she has read all the post on the copyrights of designs. You are a wonderful CUTIE and I'm sure she will totally understand if you don't send it to her. :)
