I have gone from XP to Vista and now have Windows 7. I am probably one of the few who have had few problems with any of them. But I do like Windows 7 much better than Vista.
Thanks Linda for asking this question. I managed to avoid Vista but it looks as if it is coming close to getting a new desktop. A friend has Windows 7 and she is delighted but she does not have the embroidery programs that I have. I am just a bit worried that my downloads will not be compatible for Windows 7. Sarah
I love Windows 7. We discussed it here last week.
oooooook-so maybe I wasn't looking at last weeks entries because I wasn't looking @ 7-it was just brought to my attention by a couple computer people..sorry >:(
I did go back and check out the responses-it doesn't hurt to ask again-and I was interested in vista to windows 7-my computer guys said with my programs for my machine it should all be easy switch-which, of course, I will have either my computer guy or Janome/computer rep. do for me lol
I never had vista, but I do have windows 7 and I really like it.
In my humble opinion vista should have never been released on the market, windows 7 is by far a better operating system. It is just all-round better for everything.
vista is what my computer had on it when I bought it 2 yrs ago-as did many others
I like windows 7 better that vista, vista had too many troubles.
For cmas my boys bought me flat screen & as i call it number seven & it works great as they set it all up lol Carolyn
I have Windows7 and haven't had any trouble getting use to it. My sister has Vista and I've been able to use hers also. I primarily use it for email and embroidery. My husband did get the upgraded version that can use the XP stuff if needed. We had to update 4D Extra to run on it. After managing that it has been great. You want to be sure that your embroidery software will run on Windows 7!!! Navagating the various windows is a bit different but I went from XP to 7.
After being stuck with a lemon of a computer for 2 1/2 years Best Buy finally replaced my Vista with Windows 7. I find it compatible with all my applications and hardware. Everything works just like it did with Vista and I only had to find one patch to use the software as Windows 7 found the rest on it's own. The performance has improvements and really like the taskbar features. Embroidery works just like it did with Vista maybe quicker to respond. Had a problem with the start up and thought I was going to have to restore my computer but I removed a program and it starts up in three minutes again. But that is something I created not the computer.
I too will be watching for the answers. I wish I could upgrade and still have XP. I guess that we will not be able to put if off forever. So many of my older programmes will not run with Windows 7. Hope we get the answers!!!!!!!!
