I also went and got shut down. I will not return.I do not have kaspersky but I do have a very reliable government software on my computer.I cannot afford to have my computer crash. I admit I do want free designs but will not go to sites that knowingly install a virus.
I had the same thing happen a few days ago. I just shut down and ran my own virus and malware scans and everything was ok. I have not gone back.

That virus disguised as a virus scan has raised it's ugly head again. My son's computer was shut down..again..and son in law's was shut down same day! Be careful out there!!!
I thought it was my computer, I couldn't figure out what was going on. I too went previous point and reinstalled. Hmmmmm I use to pay to download from this site, but they are starting to have to many problems for me. I'll have to find a more secure place to find designs, this computer is connected directly to my machine, I can't have this happening. No computer no embroidery machine.
I also had a problem the other day where I lost the internet completley. I'm lucky enough to have both 32 & 64 bits so I was able to get on with the 64. Then I turned the computer back a couple of days and ran a scan I'm it's OK now. Arlene
I don't view it as saying something negative about a site. I think of it as alerting those that are not computer savvy to be more aware of things that can go wrong. Popups can look legitimate but we all need to be more aware of what we do online to keep our computers safe from virus attacks, etc.
Thanks for the warning. I also have Kaspersky and listen when it warns about something not good.
WARNING!!! NEVER select that option if its not your own internet security program! One such program crashed my computer! When it opens don't select anything, click the red "X" in the upper right hand corner to close it!! The cleaner is the virus, it comes from somewhere out in cyber space! NEVER open a program that pops up and says you have a virus or anything like that if its not one you put on your computer! I can not stress this enough. It will cause nothing but problems and very possibly crash your computer. Sorry if I'm repeating myself, I feel its that important to express!
Totally true!!! There are viruses out there that are made to look like your own computer giving you notice of viruses and there are nothing but spoofed websites to aquire your personal information. The way to tell if its a fake is to look at the top bar around the edge (usually green in color) and if it has the internet anywhere on it--it's FAKE! If its YOUR computer, it won't have the internet in the label. It happened to me just the other day. Don't click anywhere on it. Instead immediately run your anti-virus/malware and remove them. Then you can remove the screen itself buy pressing the x in the right corner. My husband said that if you even push cancel on the fake site that it has a button under the cancel button that allows the virus to still be downloaded to your computer--so don't touch anything--just run your scans first. If you are unable to run your scans then put your computer in safe mode then your scans should work. Don't know how I know all this--lol. Thank God that my husbands a computer geek--lol. Hope this helps someone! Love all you cuties and want to keep all you safe!!!
I was going to mention to NOT push the red X (close button) too, as it can activate the download.
My suggestions: pull your internet from your computer ..no connection, no DL. If you cant really quickly physically disconnect your internet then as fast as you can:right click your firewall and choose to stop all internet activity ("lock" in some cases) and then quickly go into task manager to forcefully close your browser (internet explorer/firefox/opera etc) In my case I use Firefox and if I shut it down via the task manager then next time I run firefox I get a restore tab which says Well this is embarrassing ...and lets you untick/uncheck which tabs to NOT open, uncheck the tab to the site you had the popup on, and that page wont open. (I love firefox lol so many cool features.)
If you cant do either of those really fast then hit the power button on your computer. Do not shut down normally, just hit (and hold down if you need to) the power button until your computer turns off. Of course your computer wont like this at all and when you reboot it will tell you it needs to check drive C: (etc) for damage .. let it check, its unlikely you did damage. The thing about a virus is it's memory-resident and if you shut down the normal way, you actually save the virus/trojan/malware thats currently stored in the ram (memory) onto the hard drive so that it can load fast next boot/startup. This is all well and good for most programs but not for malware (etc). I learned this tip from a puter tech and its saved me a couple of times recently tho I cant remember which site gave me the scare. It wasnt turquoise, I know that, but the popup said "AVC" (and a warning I dont remember) ...VERY similar to my REAL AVG antivirus warnings. Took me 1/2 a second to realise this was bad news. Then I noticed my internet traffic meter went nuts DL'g something so I locked off the internet & shut FF. Very close call tho.
What bugs me is that the minds creating these malware/trojans/etc waste their talent on creating nasties when they could be creating much more useful programs. urgh (rant over lol) :) xXx
Had the same thing come up. It is very sneaky as it appears to be a Microsoft Security warning. What alerted me was the number of Viruses and Trojans I was supposed to have when I had only just connected to the net and Turqoise was the first site I visited.
Don't be afraid to say anything about it! It put up a new cleaner on screen and it showed I had all kinds of problems. It wanted to know if I wanted this new cleaner to run a scan and get rid of the problems. I reached over and hit the button and shut the computer down!!!!!!!!!! I ran Malware and my security and everything came back clean. Someone had hacked into Turquoise and was fishing for someone to take the bait so they could get into your computer! NEVER RUN ANYTHING from a site like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It can and will hack into your computer. The best thing to do is just HURRY and shut down your computer! This came from a computer tech!
Sandy, I have Webroot and the same thing happened to me, 2 days ago. In fact something took over my computer and started one of those bogus security scans...I got right out. I rebooted my computer, and all seems fine now.........I tried them again yesterday, and it was fine, so don't know what the heck it was...
it's always good to warn us. Myself didn't have problems sofar, but sometimes , sites we visit often suddenly give trouble warnings.like a few weeks back it was Embroideryhome. that gave the virus-warning, and now it is clean again. But we better be careful so thanks for the warning.
One of my internet security programs stopped me from the site also. It isn't just this particular site that the software catches. In other postings here at cute over that last few months many have stated different sites that we frequent everyday have been targeted and their computer security has let them known of a possible attack.
