Welcome to "cute"
I see you have been given alot of advise already.
What about also having an order book when at the market. They can place an order and the next market collect it.

Thank you so much to all who have answered my quest and who have given me ideas as what to make. All I have to do is get off this site and computer and get stitching. OXOX0 to all.
Hi there, Welcome to Cute. I only sell a few things that I make and they are mainly guest and tea towels. I mainly sew for my family and presents. Good luck and I hope we see you often at Cute. Sarah.
Welcome sweetie!! I , too sell a few stitched items. I presently sell in a beauty shop , a christian book store and a boutique spa. i try to focus on items that one will never see else where AND would you buy this?? We can not compete with China. Try to keep your items simple as you will never get your time involved out of them. i wish you best of luck!! Kay
I agree with KK, baby items sell really well. You can find a lot of designs here for the baby items. I sell key fobs also. But if you go to emblibrary and look in their projects tab, there are a lot of ideas for you to use. Another place is SWAK, you will find a lot of ideas there. Depending on your strengths, big sellers for children's wear is Applique... You could do "taggies" (blankets with ribbon looped on the edges), paci holders, ITH soft animals. The list goes on. LOL... Welcome to Cute and hope to hear and see you often.
Hi keeponsewing, Had never heard of SWAK before but just had a quick look and when I get more time will go back and go through it again. Thank you.
I found the pattern for little coin purses,make-up bag, sun glasses holders at GG Designs Embroidery. I think they would sell and they are so easy. I love them. I have been monogramming them and gifting my family and friends.
Baby items always do well for me at my Farmers Market or any craft show. Bibs, hooded towels...beach towels for older kids. You have to remember, for every baby...there are many MANY who will buy gifts for that little one! Also, even in a struggling economy...people still will buy for babies! So, don't forget the little ones when you are doing projects!
You mean 70 years young!!!
Welcome! Go to the projects page and there are so many ideas there! Good Luck!
Hugs Dawn
Welcome to CUTE - the projects section of this site can give you alot of inspiration to things that you can make - but the best tool for that is the market - what do they buy - when they go to the market - if you don't want to make the same thing as another - put lovely embroidery work on things - people really can't believe that you stitched it out yourself - take your machine - do some personalization - if you can. Towels, t-shirts, scarves, purses, toilet paper wraps, handkerchiefs, all sorts of FSL (freestanding lace) such as: bookmarks, charms, jewelry, doilys and bowls, napkins, gift bags, you name it - you can find it in FSL. I have a Love of Lace, so I know. You can enjoy this and put a bit of money in your pocket, too. *4U Shirlene
I Love to make the Free Standing Lace items. They stitch really fun and you can sell them for not too much money. People can afford to buy them and give as little gifts. I think they will sell. You can find some here, but my favorite place to get them is at http://www.mygardened.com
Hope that helps. Welcome to Cuties! You are going to get hooked!
Welcome to Cute ! designs by cuties on the top right hand corner has lots of free designs and there are projects too. You'll find some towel toppers, bookmarks, stuffies etc.
Have fun
Hugs Lee
