go behind a toilet for shelf space , it fit perfectly over my computer tower beside my desk with not even 1/2 inch to spare! I also got a nice framed cork board that I hung from the side screws and put tacks in it to drape my extra thread that is too short to toss but will nicely sew something by hand. Now I have 3 nice shelves to stack my towels, fabric (I don't quilt so I don't need much) and my stabilizers and such. I think it worked out nicely.

You have made good use of a small area. Congrats

Thank you! I have such a small place for my things so I really have to make use of them and the over the toilet rack was the only thing I could think of that would give me shelves in only 11 inches of space.

Debra, I hadn't thought of using a cork board! I think I need one of those for all my lists of projects so I can keep track of all the projects. Great idea. You really know how to put a small space to great use! Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Jan

I too have a small space. I know how hard it is to organize. I say as long as it is user friendly for you thats what counts. You did a good job for your space and it works for you. Waiting to do mine right now. Hubby is going to build me floor to ceiling cupboards to open up my floor space. Then I can fill it again!! yippee Suzanne

If only my hubby were handy! I'd love cupboards in this room, then again, I'd love some in my kitchen! Our house is so small I only have the one over the stove and a small one on each side of the window over the sink.

Thanks, mine will stay small as this house is very small even now that the kids are gone. I complain but I make do.

Oh dear, now I do feel greedy!

I'm afraid I could never work in such a small space, I even have trouble with the sun-room that I have now because it is so narrow.
(I do suffer with Claustrophobia though) :-)

I guess we all have to make the most of what we have until something better comes along as I started off with no sewing area and would have to drag the machine onto the dining table when ever I wanted to sew. (Ah the memories! LOL)

My regular machine (not computerized) is on an enclosed porch that is 30 degrees in the winter and 110 in the summer so it rarely gets used.

Yes, I don't do much stretching, lol! The lamp had a regular shade but I needed it for a lamp in the living room so the glass shade has roses on it and was on a touch lamp that quit working! Always thinking!

Thank you, I kept trying to figure out the kind of unit I could fit in 11 inches and then thought about that, cost me $25 including the cork board.

Debra, what a nice corner you have - looks like you have everything at hand and such a nice organization - you should be very comfortable here - creating lots of projects. *4U

Thanks, yes, I can sit here and dream of bigger and better things but for now, I will do with what I have. I never stay organized for long but with so little space I shouldn't have a problem with it now!

Oh Sarah, what we have to do for a little pleasure, lol! At least I have room behind my machine for my rack of threads, it will hold 60 spools but I don't have enough to fill it yet.

Boy do I feel cramped now! You have done a great job in your spce.
