I use the prewounds from metroemb.com and they work great for me - not sure if they come out cheaper than winding my own but sure does save time.
I get pre-wound bobbins from my sewing machine dealer. They are wound too full and my machine often makes a rat's nest at the beginning of them. If I take some of the thread off first it works fine. My machine doesn't do a good job of sensing the end of bobbins (it senses too soon) and it makes no difference with these bobbins.
Hey Sewmom, Did you know with the ULT2003 they can adjust that so it doesn't warn you until it gets much lower!?!? They can adjust much more than I ever imagined! I've never had a problem with them being too full....
I buy pre wound bobbins, I just ask my dealer to put a box in the post or collect when I am there. But like Sue I bought some from ebay that dont fit
:(. I realise I know nothing about them but like the convenience of them
I use Fil Tec clear guide. They work GREAT! Just be sure & get the bobbin right side up in your machine...check a bobbin you usually use in the machine to see how the thread should unwind. The cost was $30 for 100 white. But I can't remember where I got them as I ordered with a friend! At least that'll give you a point of reference. Could also get colors. With a certain size order, shipping was free. I have a Viking Diamond & a SE.
I use the NEBS brand prewound because that is what my Viking dealer sells. Have had no problems with them and they come in colors as well as white.
I am pleased to hear you mention that your viking dealer sells NEBS which means they are O.K. for these machines. I have a Ruby and the dealers tell me it is a NO-NO to use pre-wound bobbins. Says is can ruin my machine. Thanks again for this info because I prefer to use pre-wound, so time saving.
I use the fil-tec prewound bobbins and just love them. I've never had a problem with this brand on my designer 1. Also everybody is correct with the increased amount of thread on prewound. Just be sure you find the proper size for your machine. It should tell you in your owners manual which size you is. Have fun and good luck.
Hey Terri, my Service Centre mechanic left a pre-wound bobbin in my Designer Diamond and it stitched out a treat.
Only problem was that the machine did not recognise when the bobbin ran out.
Hope this helps, hugs n gumnuts,
Meganne
PS, finally have a bed made up in the bedroom for you and DH. :-)
Don't do what I did and buy 144 pre-wound bobbins that are the wrong size for your machine! They were a real bargain on Ebay. I can wind the thread off onto normal bobbins so they are not wasted. I wish I could get that much thread on one bobbin though.
I love the prewound bobbins too. They hold much more than I can ever get on them. Bobbin thread is thinner than the top embroidery thread. The sewing tech said the sideless bobbins can get sideways in the bobbin race and mess everything up. I try not to spend over $40 for 144 bobbins. Be sure your bobbin thread is the same material as your embroidery thread. Have fun finding jsut the right bobbins! A flower for you and for those who answered you too!

I am not sure what info you need? but I use prewounds in my brother pr620 and they are great, however the brother inovis I had before that hated them, I think every machine has it's own personality. I think they are more expensive but for me it is worth it not to have to keep winding bobbins. I buy them in a box of about a 100 at a time.
Alice.
I also use the prewound bobbins and the Viking Designer 1 takes a L bobbin and I've had no problem with it being wound too tight or too much thread. I don't buy from my dealer for they are way too much. I also order from a friend and get a gross. Check on the internet for there are several places to get them. roberta
