Yes - I have done it, but it is more difficult. I posted lace angels a while back, and they were done in metallic thread. I slow my machine down, for metallic thread tends to bind more often for me. I also find that I have better luck with the Sulky metallic than others. I see that you did try it - it looks like we have a lot of night owls out there.
tanuja, it can really make a beautiful lace item, but as each Cutiepie and Shirlene said, you will need to watch your thread and use a larger needle, one made for metallic thread or larger hole. The bobbin stitches wonderfully with metallic thread, the top has to be watched so that it doesn't twist. A flwoer for you.
As Shirlener said, it is possible. Make sure you are using a metallic needle (it has a longer, wider eye to lessen the friction on the thread and prevent breaking), use the same thread for top and bottom so that it will match no matter which side you are looking at, and if at all possible, slow down your machine as it stitches. I know some machines don't offer that option (mine don't) but if yours does, it will make things easier on you.
tanja, you can - it is a bit more difficult - but it can be done - you should always use a metallic needle when using metallic thread, as well. What are you planning on making? *4U
Use metallic thread in the upper and bobbin case - always the same color. It makes a pretty stitchout and you will be very happy with it.
