Does anyone have experience with taking a United States Singer embroidery machine to a tropical area (Brazil). Singer doesn't advise but didn't say why. I would love to know so I don't damage mine

I bet it has more to do with the moisture than not. A flower for you.

4lghoward, I'm no expert here, but I think you need to find out from Singer EXACTLY why they don't recommend. It could be something to do with the electricity voltage being different in Brazil to the US. ***I would strongly recommend not plugging your machine in until you hear from them***, if the plugs there are different, the voltage could be too. Or it might be because of the heat (see my heat alert that I posted today). Or it might just simple be because Singer don't want to take any responsibility if anything goes wrong. All the best and so hope you can use your machine in Brazil, sweetie, flowers and hugs.

I did see your heat post that is what made me think to ask. I did address the voltage issue with Radio Shack as per singer recommendations but they hesitate still I guess if I have problems I will have to sait to get back to the states and use my CE350. I love both but they are both new so I need to learn a lot. A flower to you for your help

It would be my guess that ruthie is correct about the plugs and voltage.
