Batten down the hatches, Mates! Stay in where it is dry and don't try to go to the fabric stores. Be safe!
Please stay safe, you are all in my prayers
Thank you for thinking of us up here in North Queensland. We are in Innisfail, Yasi is expected to cross the coast here later tonight about 10p.m. they predict. It is hurricane strength, and the weather people are saying it could last for 10 to 12 hours,it is such a huge system, don't think there will be much left of us by then. I'm not ashamed to admit that I am really scared. We went through Larry five years ago, and it was just horrific, this one is stronger.
Please when this horrible cyclone is over, Let us know you are all OK. I lived in East Innisfail and went to the Innisfail East school. Would love to talk to you outside this site. Lyn (nee Franzi)
Hi Lyn, We live in East Innisfail, my husband went to East Innisfail school, as did our children. What year were you at the school?
We have battened down, and done all we can in preparation, now we wait. It is expected to cross the coast at about midnight. We decided not to evacuate as we are in a high area, so we'll ride it out as best we can.
Thank you for your thoughts, we will try to keep safe, and talk again one day. I expect we will be without power for some time when it's all over. After Larry, we had no power for 3 weeks.
I just cannot imagine how you feel at this time. Please keep us in touch when you can. I will be following the news today. My thoughts are with you all. Be safe. Hugs Sarah.
