I love that we can keep beautiful memories in our hearts when our loved ones are no longer with us....I'm so glad you had a wonderful hubby that left your heart full of joyful memories....thanks so much for sharing, I enjoyed reading your post.
Sometimes called a Hen party.

Guess you could say this is right but I have always thought of a Hens Party as a pre Wedding get together for the bride and her female friends, but The Old Chooks will get together next Monday - always the last Monday of the month. So I will ask them on the 28th. Love to all. L
I must be careful of the Australian Slang. I now realise that not everyone can understand the way we Australians speak. Chooks - Chickens, but then I think of chickens as the babies. What is the Adult female? Rooster is the male. What a silly subject. Please Aussies help me here.
Guess so. Can you imagine a bunch of Old Hens all talking at the same time, then as DH said a bunch of old chooks???
What a sweet memory. I don't know what a Chooks is, but I'm sure it was said with love. :)
I'm sure he's proud of you the way you handle and the way you live your life enjoying the group of ladies around you.I don't know the expression :old Chooks, it make me think of Indians. Anyhow, hugs and * 4u! G
Imagine all of those chickens talking at the same time. That is what my DH thought we sound like.
He must have realized how good OLE CHOOKS are to have around and said so in a loving way...Bless our friends who are here for us....
It sounds like your DH only wanted the best for you. I have a hubby like that also. Hugs, Judy
Sounds like he enjoyed knowing that you were having a good time and doing what you loved. What a beautiful memory you have shared with us.
He was probably glad that I was out of his hair (that's a laugh as he didn't any on the top) so he could peacefully read his book. L
He does sound like 1 in a million - I am sure you miss him. I am glad you have your old Chooks to met with and get together and have fun. Keep on stitching.
At least he showed interest in what you did. So many husbands think ita waste of time.
He seemed to be a very nice old "chook" himself! My hubby loves to peek over my shoulder, occasionally, when my embroidery machine is stitching away. He doesn't intrude on my
work, but is truly amazed at a machine that can stitch out a
beautiful piece of art! He is my first "appraiser", after I finish a design! LOL
