motorcyle. He managed to push me completely across the highway but I held it up! He hit me hard enough that my rear shock flew straight up in the air about 40 feet, bent the rim on my rear wheel and a bunch of other little stuff, anyway........I held er up coasted to the shoulder and let it down, scared hubby since he saw the whole thing, so the worst injury to me was I tourqued my elbow north west and east (ouch) I've had quite a few injections to try and fix it and obviously they didn't work, so the dr. says no more shots, lets just fix it for good, so surgery tomorrow a.m.. The dr says he;s going to remove the scar tissue, clean up the area and - are you ready for this one - make the bone angry!! Sounds scary and like it's really going to hurt - YIKES sorta nervous, so I would appreciate any air wave hugs you want to send. Hope I don't sound like a sissy but I've only got my dh and it's not the same as a buddy to lean on. Whew I didn't mean to ramble, just nervous I guess. Wish me luck, hope to check in soon........

Hi Karen, I hope everything goes well. Bone operations can be little painfull, but I can tell you it is not unbearable, and you will be given pain killers. Take the pills, as it will be for only a few days. I have had a ankle, and a shoulder op (on the bone) as well as a bone scrape on my knee, and we woman can handle it better than the men. LOL.
All the luck in the world to you, and in a few days you will be as new as a new sixpence.
Warm hugs, and God bless
Marietta

The Lord was with you, Karen, when this accident happened, and rode with you to a much less severe outcome than normally would have been on a bike. I,
too, ride a motorcycle, and my grown kids think I am
crazy, but I enjoy being a free spirit with the wind
in my face. I tell them that I can get killed walking,
driving a vehicle, riding on a bus, or galloping on a horse; one just has to be as careful as possible whatever you do, and ask God to ride along!
As to your elbow, I can tell you that the healing will take time, and even after the pain and soreness are gone, it will be sensitive for quite sometime to come. That is because it takes nerves in joints much longer to heal/regenerate. I had a severely broken wrist (from roller skating LOL) resulting in a couple of surgeries and followed by therapy. Be sure to do your exercises as instructed to regain full motion more quickly. You will be fine! My prayers and best wishes to you for a speedy recovery!

Karen, anybody that holds up a bike and DARES a car to try and knock you over is NOT a sissy! Anytime something is done "unnaturally" (as in a surgery) to our body we are apprehensive at the least. I'm praying for your calm, your doctors expertise, and your healing right now. I'm sending you hugs and warmth in that cold operating room. Let us know how it goes....we care.;)

Who in their right mind is not woriied before surgery? When you are awake enough to talk to us again we will be here waiting for news. And my prayers are added also for you. BTW, you are 1 amazing rider to be able to hang onto the bike. Just about anyone else would have dumped it. I still miss riding on the back with my handsome hubby, but my damaged spine no longer lets me do this.

Dear Karen,

I'll certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I want you to get back on that bike again and give 'em what for. I know you'll be sore for a while, but pain is our friend, at least we know we are alive! Take the pain medication that you are allowed and 'ride' over and through it!

Love and blessings Chris

Go get 'em!!!

Karen, I will keep you in my prayers. It is scary to have any kind of proceedure. When it is you they are cutting on or scraping or even running test, it is scary to have to wait to find out what the results are going to be. You arm will be awkward to use for awhile and it may have some pain but that can be taken care of easily. I am not even going to tell you not to worry because you are going to do that anyway. Just remember that the Lord is with you and the Dr is serving as His co-pilot during the surgery. I hope hubby will be there when you go to sleep and when you wake up to give you moral help. You seem to have a pretty great hubby that loves you so I know from the way you speak of him that he will do his beas to help you. When I had my horrible surgery 7+ yrs ago. I had no family with me. My best friend signed me in and stayed with me until after the surgery. Lots of good luck to go along with a good Dr! You should be as good as new before you know it! Let your hubby take care of you and spoil you for a few days! Prayers and blessings, Linda Oh, if you would like to send me your phone # I will call you in a few days and we can talk. You should have my email address. I will thinking of you!

Cyber hug coming your way. It is always nerve wrecking to have surgery done. Everything is going to be alright and no more shots. Keep us posted. I am so glad you survived that spill. That could have gone much worse.
