I just saw the clown on the brother site. is anyone afraid of clowns? I know i'm not but some people are terrified. What about you

Bring on the clowns...I've always loved them and when I was just a kid got to go down into the sawdust and was part of an act...loved it.

Don't like at them at all...hated the movie IT.

Awww....., come on folks, my three girls LOVED Bozo, the clown, Howdy Doody, and Ronald McDonald, when they were kids! Clowns are just entertainers, only with much more makeup than possibly Marilyn Monroe or Madonna!! LOL I haven't done a poll, but I would wager heavily that there is a much greater number of people who love clowns, than those who do not!! Anyways.........
My hubby is a Shriner and participates in many, many parades, along with the Shriner Clowns Unit each year. A lot of these clowns bring smiles to the faces of the kids being treated at the Shriners Childrens Hospitals throughout this country and others, as well as along the parade routes. So you see, I may be a minority on this
posting, but most kids love clowns, and many adult "kids" do also!
Most of us had incidents while we were young and our minds so impressionable, that made us squeamish of certain things! I am the "superlady" that rescues my hubby from the most frightful spiders, which includes ALL spiders! LOL

I am not afraid but i do not like them they do dont make me laught, everytime I go to a Circus i wait for the clowns to come out and then i go to restroom, buy soda hotdog etc, I am not interesting in their performance, i do not DL nothing to do with clowns either I have tons of different designs, not one clown is in my file.sorry for those who are clowns or have a professional clown in the family.

Clowns are creepy. It's hard to pinpoint it but there is just something seriously wrong there. lol.. Don in TX

The book/movie "It" doesn't help either. lol

I was planning a quilt of clown blocks for the neighbor boy (16 yrs old) until I discovered he is scared to death of clowns! His mother says she has no idea why he is, never been around anyone in clown makeup.

Clowns give me the creeps!!!!!I met Emmit Kelly when I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade at a performance at the College where we lived.That would have been in the early 50's and I fell in love with him but he is the only one that I ever liked. I got to talk to him and he was very nice. He took up a good amount of time with the younger school children that was there. I do not watch them in the movies. TV, or in amusement parks. When I was much younger, I would have nightmares when I saw one. This nice clown on the Brother site is not intimidating. he is rather cute. It surprised me when I decided to download him. When the last clown alpha was given to us on Cute, I did not go to her site while they were on there. I no longer have nightmares about them but they make my skin crawl. I have never embroidered one and even if someone wanted one, I would not do it unless it had a childish sweet face! The one I got yesterday on Brother is the only one in my collection of designs. I was 64 in Dec. and have a reputation of being tough as nails about most everything(been on my own a long time)but clowns and SPIDERS are not anything I want anywhere close to me! I quickly go into KILLING mode when I see a spider! I am terrified of a spider but I just do not like clowns!

My oldest daughter hates clowns! Not sure why. I've seen some funny ones and some that are down right scary! They don't scare me, but I can see how they can leave a lasting impression on a young child that can turn to fear or nightmares.

We had discussed fears a while ago. We do have some who do not like clowns.

I'm not afraid but I don't like them too much either, and most of the time I don't think they are funny. however I have been a clown myself a whole day long for a special occasion. Thankfully people did not recognize me.

I do find them a little freaky -but then they so often have pretty extreme makeup and features, like a huge nose etc. A friend of a friend has a huge collection of them, so some are fearful and others make up for them :)

Then there are the movies. Killer clowns from outer space and that one by Stephen King. Spooky

I am not frightened of clowns I just do not like them. I also hate the circus but that is more to do with the animals. Just do not get me started on that!!!!!

I'm with you. Was never keen on the circus like it seemed kids were supposed to be. Nowadays I'm still not that thrilled with it, even when I had a son doing circus arts training, I had to force myself to sit and watch them :)
