Just took a look at my files and need to start copying to cd, and back up, and copy to my external drive. I can't believe what we are collecting from here. Haven't started downloading from here.

I usually back up my zipped files to a cd as soon as I can, no later than a few days. I then unzip them and save what I need, delete the other formats, etc I don't need. Then catagorize them by designer, then type. I like to keep those zipped backup cds. I had a problem a while back and would have lost a lot if it hadn't been for those cds. It is like the old saying "measure twice, cut once". Two copies, one of them being a back up is great protection.

Do you put designs on a CD and then delete the original?

dlonna, *do that backup right now*, I'm serious, imagine having to re-download all those files *again*, not a pretty thought. After I finish downloading for the day, I sort by designer, then categorise by description (animals, flowers etc), then back-up to external, then about once a week I do a mega back-up to another external - because it really is absolutely staggering just how many designs we can download in such a short space of time. Now if only we could stitch each design out as quickly as we can download them, that would be terrific, haha! Hugs and flowers for you sweetie.

If you figure that one out, ruthie dear, let me know. I could do alot more stitching if I'd stay off here more, though. ;)

Ruthie, It would be lovely to have a machine that you could thread all your cottons onto, press the start button, put the kettle on, Machine has finished the complete design. Lovely dream. Maybe not a dream for our great grandchildren.
