It is !!!! but do not worry becuase it is not against the law!!! I do not know how may CD i have, but I do not have a binder, i used to, but then I realize ink it is too expensive.
Goodness is it! But... there is help... Once you start testing some of the desings... and find that not all designs are created equal... you start being more choosy, and start picking the digitizers, you think do a better job... then you don't have to download just every design out there... at least it was for me. I have had some designs with such poor results, and it is not the fabric, nor the stabilizer, nor the thread, it is the design itself...
But enjoy the addiction while it lasts! I did.
Sorry I call them binders but they are 3inch notebooks that I use plastic sheet protectors in and I do print out the picture of each item and put them in the notebooks. My big machine uses floppy discs so I number the floppies and pages to match so I know which floppy each one is on. I had to have a way to get organized since I was getting so many pages and floppies. It works for me. I don't like storing them on my computer in case it may crash. I buy patterns and get freebies. Got to stop but I always find another one I have to have. LOL
It seems all aspects of machine embroidery are addictive. What a wealth of fun and games.
Over 100,000 designs and I'm still downloading. What do you think? LOL ***
j'en ai plus et pourtant je télécharge dès que je trouve de nouveaux designs. je suis de votre avis, il s'agit presque d'une drogue, mais pas avec le meme danger
NO NOT AT ALL....my friends say, "she can't join us until after 10 because she is getting HER crack of choice"....so what would you say? hahahahahhaa
YES!!! It is an addiction! Anything that takes resources away from the family is an addiction. Time, money, attention.... I am having to learn to control it. Unfortunately I also buy designs, not just download free designs. I can never begin to stitch them all. But I am ready with any design I need, even in the middle of the night. I'm wondering if Cuties have other additions... Solitaire, other collections, chocolate, sudoku, American Idol, etc?? I know there are other Cat lovers here.....
It truly is a "Habit"! I am still in the 12 Step Program
after several years of downloading; 12 steps to get my cup of coffee, 12 steps back to the computer, 12 more sites to search, 12 more designs to download.......! And, what is so important to know is, " I keep doing these twelve steps several times a day, and I am STILL ADDICTED! LOL
Angel
Thanks for the reminder - I need to take my 12 steps to get more coffee!
Sorry, yes it is and it gets you in and you don't even know it is happening...good luck...this site is addictive too...but you find you cannot live without it...morning or night...hugs sally
It is most certainly addictive. It also creates problems as one has so many designs to choose from. Much time is used looking for the perfect design.
But what a wonderful 'hobby'
If I had to use every design I down loaded and worked 18 hours in a day it would still take me at least 20 years to sew them all out. But I am still downloading because you never know..........
No. It is a fulltime occupation with plenty of perks.
From Bev
It sure is addictive. I try to have my machine going when I am on the computer downloading or digitising. In this way at least I am using some of the designs, which my son keeps telling me "Mom you will never use all those designs" haha
Hugs Yvonne
I think that you just have to look at all the comments to know the answer to that !!??!!
Oh Yeah! I have more designs than I'll ever use but you never know what you might need...LOL
I am exhausted and I am still at my computer D/L-ing and reading embroidery emails.....this has to be one of the worst incurable addictions ever.....so glad it's incurable. :_)
No doubt about it, especially when there is so much cute stuff to download!
Did you really have to ask, lol??!! I am sure you have found out by now that it is. I have been here downloading all evening and need a break but of course my machine is not running though I am right beside it! I am looking for the thing I need to stitch this week and having trouble deciding!
Are you kidding this is the only thing I want to do every day. I'm almost finished downloading all the designs on Cute! Best money I've ever spent and now I have every kind of design you can think of using only I need to turn my computer off so that I can sew!!!! LOL Hehehehe!
Good Luck
Dawn
Nah.... LOL LOL I have 13 (3) inch binders full and counting. Buying #14 when I go to town. No way will I ever use them all in my lifetime. LOL
Join the club of the downloading addicts.
I too have binders. I print designs as per disks (designer 1 machine). then I number the disk and the pages the same so I know what designs are on what disk.
Jo
Ps.... AND YES downloading is very addictive !!!
I don't have ANY binders. What do you do with binders? I can view all my designs on my computer. Do I NEEd binders? AM I missing out on something????
OH... you guys are missing out ! I recently took my "Binders" to a 4-H meeting with me and let all of my 4-H kids (ages 8 to 14) go through them and pick a design for me to put on jackets that I had bought them.. they had a blast looking at all the designs I have collected, some even had a hard time choosing just the right design. It was so much FUN !!!
Def!! Just can't help myself. There is no possible way I can stitch out all the designs I have in my lifetime. I obviously have them because they are pretty :) Its an obsession!
OH YEA,can't seem to help ourselves. Now we just need to find a project to do with all the designs we have downloaded. Sure is fun though. I check my computer everyday along with many other ladies who have just as much fun as I do. Join the crowd! Roberta
I'm thinking it's right up there with collecting flowers!! LOL!
I am thinking it is more than an addiction! And guess who got me started on that? It was you! lol Have been away from it for a while but have picked up where I left off! Someone is going to inherit one heck of an embroidery collection....both freebies and purchased! Miss u G! xo
