beyond our control, but I do not see why be so rude:

As you know this is a NO POST group...the posts that you send sometimes are a way to ask a question of me but generally you only get notices from me and Julie....

Lately there have been a number of you who have been sending notices with out a subject and when checked to see if you need something I am faced with CRAP, some times it is PORN, sometimes just SPAM, but from today forward no matter if you have been "hacked" or if you placed it you will be banned from the group. You can come back with a NEW email but I do not have time for this and I know as a group you don't want to deal with it either. This is a moderated group that means NO ONE sends a message I don't see first....If I let the email though it is because I want you to see it...so please if you want to stay in this group, which has all FREE designs, behave and don't send CRAP to me. I will ban your email.

Maria,

Please don't take this personally. The email was posted to everyone with the subject line; ALL members, Please Read. It wasn't just sent to you.

Her point was, this is an announcement group only, NO postings. When she does get posts, she has to read it to see if a member is asking a question or needs help.

I don't blame her for banning an email, as I get tired of the crap and junk, also. When someone has had their email harvested, and it is being used for spam, and the email owner doesn't take care to stop it, I think they should be banned.

I know some people don't like Yahoo groups and/or their owners. Not everyone fits into every group.

I personally like Linda's groups and her straightforwarded emails.

I agree with Auntie... Do not take this personally. I have been a member of too many groups for years, and from time to time they have to send messages like this one to everybody, because someone gets a hold of a member's email and password, and they start sending bad emails to the group. It is annoying to everyone... Members, and Moderator, and specially the owner, because in the end, they are responsible for what comes through their emails. Imagine if you had receive the porn in your emails instead of the warning...

I haven't had time to check those emails, but I can imagine my copy of that email is sitting in my hotmail account.

Have a great day!

Did she send you the e-mail privately or did she post it to her group?
As a Yahoo Group owner I can really sympathise with her.I flatly refuse to approve messages that have no subject.I get some pretty weird messages, I can tell you.
I get pretty hot under the collar, when I receive these, without a subject line, and have often been tempted to say something to my group. Something very much along the same lines as she has.
My policy- no subject, no approval.
But, on the other hand, if she send it to you privately, and has received those type of e-mails from your address, then she should have told you that there is a big possibility that your e-mail address has been hijacked, and could you please change it.

I agree with you too. I don't think that it was a mean email, just a very frustrated and annoyed Group Mom! I am so glad that I don't have a yahoo group.

That is not good! I do not belong to many yahoo groups as I actually find them not so user friendly... I figure if they don't want you to download their freebees so be it...I belonged to one which said if you are only here for the freebees you will be banded...Hugs Sally

Yes, a lot of them say that. The reason they say that is because people subscribe, download the freebies, then unsubscribe and expect to be accepted when they subscribe again for the next lot of freebies. And so on.

Yes, life is too short to deal with that rot. I'd have also voted with my feet, like you did.

Is this a Yahoo group? I am sure that there must be some sort of code of ethics for the owners of such groups. I can't believe that someone would actually right that. Seriously we all get mad and think things but actually typing is a bit more than a slip of the tongue. I would leave the group. We have enough frustration in life to deal with without having to receive messages like that.

I was a member of this group a couple of years ago and quit it for this very reason. There where many posts exactly like this one. They don't have to be so rude to their members. I am surprised that they are still up and running. I remember one about just getting free designs and that if your only there for free designs, then you would be banned.
I don't feel that I should feel obligated to buy something just for the sake of buying something. No one should feel pressured to do so. Free is free and if you don't want people to download the free ones, then don't offer them.

Well Maria, Personally I think that message is a little harsh, it is beyond anyone's control if their INTERNET email is hacked and sending out spam-mail using their ID. The only thing a person can do is notify the provider: Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail etc so that they can track it down and fix it.

Different story if it is coming from your own private email account, then you need to run anti-malware and anti-virus to try and find the spyware on your pc.

Perhaps you might want to consider resigning from that group, they do not seem to be very understanding, or nice for that matter.

Hugs n love, Meg
