Sandra , I usually use Sticky back Sulky or I order it from Marathon.com ( comes in small to LARGE rolls that several of my friends & I split.)
We have an order in now. I hoop it and score the paper with a pin and remove the paper, then lay my item on top and smooth out. I think it is Great ,use it all the time. A flower for your bouquet.
Both Sulky and Florinia both have it. It has been around for at least 10 yrs. It is great for fabric that the hoop will burn, like satin and jersey, or knits.
Sandra, I doubt that you'd buy it at either Spotlight or Lincraft, you'd need a specialty shop for something like sticky stabiliser. Also I would ask your dealer about the advisability of using it with your machine, apparently some machines are more sensitive than others. Hugs and flowers sweetie.
Could you use iron-on instead? Or that iron-on applique *stuff* (I really should find out what it's called, haha), that you could apply probably after doing the stitching, to fuse the pieces together?
rutie, the iron-on applique stuff is called Bondaweb or Wonder Under (here in Germany we call it Vliesofix) This is the only one I know produced by Freudenberg, the producer of Vilene over here.
Thanks so much for that anna, hugs and I'll find your name somewhere to give you a flower sweetie.
If the project calls for it, then they have decided that it works best for it, that doesn't mean that you can't use something that you have. Usually you can hoop it, then mark an X with a pin and tear it back, the material goes on it and stitch. Or you can place it on the back of the fabric. Be somewhat careful not all machines, needles or thread like that sticky stuff. Make sure you post your finished project for us all to view. A flower for you.
no one has heard of it ! Will waite till tomorrow when a class begins (Saturday) I am going on Monday Thanks
The stablizer sticks to your fabric. I have used in some but for detailed embroidery it is hard to get off. Usually comes in rolls like the tear away. You just peel back the backing and stick the paper to your fabric. Usually find it along side of the tear away stablizer.
I did contact the shop They said Spotlight had it Gust what They had not heard off it !
