A quick look on the Net. Found some milk jug covers at Secrets of for $1.50. Will have to go back and purchase a couple of patterns.

Also - and I promise I'll go to bed after this - have a look at Miem's Bargain Store in Dainty Stitches....

....if you haven't already found it.
There are a couple of finer FSL coasters there.

Another quick message.... have you seen this page?

It's the same milk jug covers that you have in Secrets of...
and I apologise for jumping in too soon. The covers are stitched on 4x4 hoops but then you make 8 pieces and sew them together to make larger doileys.
There are also three crochet coaster sets here, too, which I think might make lovely smaller jug covers. I'd still crochet large loops with beads around the edge.

Yes Alma, I have seen these. I have bought the ones from Secrets of as they were only $1.50 each. Lyn

Hi Chris - one thing occurred to me. I'm not sure that a 4x4 design will be big enough for a milk jug cover, even held down with beads, but for a small 'creamer' it would probably do. A 5x7 design, giving a 5" or 6" square cover would be better. I've just measured one of my old milk jug covers and it's a good 6" in diameter and that's ample for a bigger jug - it swamps my little cream jugs.

Having said all that, thank you for the lead to the Secrets of designs. I'm going to get a couple myself and if they do turn out a bit small I'll crochet large loops with beads on them around the edge. That won't take too long.

I'm always on the lookout for new, quick and lovely little projects and I have a couple of special friends who would love these little covers.

You haven't seen my little milk jug, it's only about 2.5" tall and 2" across. :-)))

You could use thin netting with a crocheted edging with beads around it. This is what I did. Or add a lace edge to it. Hugs Yvonne

You can use FSL doilies, or doily centres and coasters as jug covers too, depends on the size of the milk jug. Just stitch some pretty beads around the edge.

First three pics are 4x4 fsl coasters, last three are doilies. And there are thousands of these to be found, some with higher stitch count than others but all gorgeous!

I actually used two of my small cut glass milk jugs on the table at lunch time yesterday and it felt so elegant. :-)

Oh, so it is basically just a doily that you drape over the top of the bottle? I'd use it as a doily, lol! I have been to that site but don't remember if I bought anything and now I may have to, their bowls are so pretty and they fit 4x4! Thanks!

you can make them smaller just to cover a glass of milk and they look very pretty,
