I only do Facebook because of the grandkids. They think it's cool to "chat" with grandma or tend our farms together. I have no desire to find "old classmates", etc. Carol
The only web site for me is CUTE!!! I don't care about all the others. DeVon
I love Facebook, I have found anf rekindles friendships with so many old friend, but saying that I am so careful about what I post on it!
I don't do facebook either. Concerned about the "security" of the data and who can REALLY see what - just don't want that exposure to stealing and hacking, etc.
I too do not do face book. Can't be bothered with it. It is confusing and I have better things to do like being here and embroidering Suzanne
I like Facebook :) I have been in contact with "kids" from my second grade class, and it's been a blast. It's not that different from here, except your friends are your family, and people you know from experience. If you don't want personal info accessible, just turn on the filters. I do see some things that shouldn't be posted, tho.
Daisy, I have the best possible setup with security, filters, etc. But, there are those computer "geniuses" (thieves) out there that know how to hack through any computer system!

I do not have a Facebook account either. With big brother already knowing everything about everyone anyway, why help them? Don in TX
I was on Facebook for a few months, and enjoyed chatting
with friends and family. But, when I started reading how easily your personal info was accessible from all the
games, like or dislike buttons, and ads on the pages, I decided it wasn't worth the risk. I learned that viruses to the computer could be picked up from facebook
pages of even friends and family, because of the indiscreet acceptance they used to allow additional friends. For instance, I discovered that my grandson had over 450 friends, and when I spoke with him about it, he nonchalantly stated, "Oh, I just accept everyone who requests to be a friend!" I quickly decided Facebook was not worth the risk of my computer being compromised or my personal info.

My hubby has Facebook. I never go on it. I have so many other things I do.
I use Facebook to view photos of grandchildren....
Mine and others. Takes hardly any time and is most rewarding.
I am on facebook-but I have to say, it has lost it's "this is so neat" zing. I loved it when I signed up a couple years ago-but I find the more things that people post non-stop-the less I care for those people-I'm sure anyone that has it knows what I mean. It is neat to reconnect with old friends and classmates-but at the same time, I don't need to read your every move throughout the day or especially to what goes on "behind closed doors". It is nice to be able to chit chat with family miles away tho. It has it's good points and not so good. ~linda~
Hi Linda
I agree with everything you say. It is great for catching up with old friends and family - seeing pictures posted.
I used to not care for Facebook (especially after seeing the movie Social Network), but this seems to be the forum for keeping track of friends and family. So I've spent a lot more time there these days. teri
i don't do facebook either..just not interested in what everyone else is doing & i have to squeeze housework & shopping in every now & again!
I go to face book becuase my son and daughter post their pictures in that site, but I do not like it, I go see the pics. and leave.
I'm with you. I spend so much time online doing embroidery stuff, which is of interest to me and the folks that are part of this, not any time for Facebook. We just spend time doing what interests up the most it seems.
On facebook you keep track of friends and family, not strangers...
