My husband encourages me all the way. He even helps me hoop hats if I get a big order. He hoops the hats better than I do. If I give him an idea for something I would like for displays, he figures out how to build what I need.
My husband is what is known as a "Jack of all trades", and I'm so lucky and thankful to have him.
Heck yes, my husband only needs drink or eats when i get set up. however he helps me when i need it. ha ha , he knows i'm addicted.. yes i have my own sewing room. life is good!.
Naw, he's got his own room to read in, and his own computer to surf on. He only calls me when it's time to clean something----
I do whatever I want during the day, cause hubby is at work. He doesn't seem to like it, if I sit at the computer when he is home, but doesn't say much. He likes
my undivided attention, or to just sit beside him watching tv, as he unwinds from his workday. I try to appease him most of the time. He is such a good sport about things I want to do, and is always complimentary about my crafts and creations. We spoil each other, as well as, give each other space, so there's really no jealousy as long as we balance those two things!! LOL
Angel
Now he bought me a new one (4 needle) two years ago and last year a other normal one which i can easier take with me. Since two yaer I'm a lot downloading and he is doing my filework for me. He helps me a lot with all the tings and we have a lot of fun together. I think we have together a hoby and my daughter is a now and then jealous, Yvonne
OMG, yes. He hates it that I can get so much pleasure out of these things. I don't get enough exercise either. Or I'm going to ruin my eyes, back and everything else sitting that long. He likes to read everything I open. Main, too. That pisses me off big time. I don't read his mail. But after he birches for a while, he'll just shut up. cause I don't pay any attention to him when he's birching.
Well we will just have to ignore them. I'll try harder. I have heard "you can't change difficult people you can only change how you react to them" I need to work on this with my DH (Dingledorf Husband). I dont know what other peoples DH stands for but that works for my husband. LOL, Take Care, Carolyn *4u
Yes! My husband started telling me that I was addicted to Cute! Which I am! But he just got the new IPhone so he has been on his computer just as much! LOL
I will have to thank Apple for this!!! Hehehehe!
Dawn
That's funny. It is very easy to get addicted to this site. especially when you start chatting. If I just checked the designs It would be easier, but once you ask a question or submit a project you cant help but want to see the responses. I am sure Im not telling you anything you dont already know. Oh well, enjoy Cute! Its a fun site, with nice people, and very informative. *4U, Carolyn
My dh retired and I used to be the computer widow. Now, I have time to play on the computer and sew and he said it is his turn to be the cw. But, he loves to drive me to the fabric store so I can get my supplies. He is the computer wizard so when I screw up my computer, he is gracious enough to fix it without faulting me. He also makes great suggestions on my designs. He is great....
So many great husbands out there! What does DH stand for? Glad that you have a keeper too! Wish mine would even show interest in my designs. Oh well, my husband does have many other fabulous qualities. *4U, Carolyn
I'm very fortunate in that my husband loves my "habit" LOL He seems so proud of the things that I make for gifts or for our house. He'll even volunteer to be the designated driver on shop hops, shows, etc. And as for the computer time, we have a laptop that is for my embroidery and a MAC which is his....problem solved hee hee hee. Yep, he's a keeper! * 4U
No, he has his own computer and his stamp collection and we both have our own room - both messy.
LOL, I just tried to straighten up my sewing area tonight. Its just going to get messy again. Sounds like you have a keeper too! *4U
My husband doesn't like my excessive time on the computer. Let's face it, nothing else gets done when we're on the computer- unless you're on a treadmill. :) He doesn't mind the time in the sewing room at all though. There, he feels, I'm using what I've bought. Creating things for gifts or our home/us. He always likes to see what I make. When we built a new home 4 years ago, he knew a large room for a sewing room was very important in any plan that we picked. He was the one who found a plan that could be modified to fit out needs - sewing room included. When we lived in South Dakota years ago, he built on to the home we had to add a small sewing room for me as I had a commercial sewing machine in the kitchen and a large drop-side cutting table in the living room. I use to do cottage sewing making tents and whatever else came my way.
Lori
Sounds like you found a Keeper too! I just have a home embroidery/sewing machine but someday I may be interested in getting one that can do baseball hats and tubes. I am new to this emboidery but am having a ball with it. Thanks for responding, *4U, Carolyn
I'd say no, as he's the one that wanted me to get my machine right away when we were looking at them and I wanted to think about it as it was so much money. He saw a sewing table that folds out and has room for 2 machines and a serger and the laptop. It also has a nice chair that comes with it. He figured I should have that!
In life we have to make choices and it sounds like you found a great man, and you have a wonderful hobby. Keep having fun! *4U
Thanks, Carolyn
My DH never complains and I'm thankful for that. I think it is cute that your hubby set you up on your treadmill. How cleaver is that? Does he do a treadmill also? Hugs, Judy
We live in Michigan and when there is snow outside the treadmill works great, but he usually likes to mountain bike. I walked on the treadmill for 76 min today while unzipping files. (2 mph on high incline) The time goes by so fast. flower for you. carolyn
Not at all.
Gives him time to make the bed (last up makes the bed here) and wash the dinner dishes (warms up his hands on cold mornings if I haven't done the dishes the night before).
Added to all that.... he always knows where to find me.
AlmaG.
Sounds like you have your man trained. I have a little more work to do with mine. Carolyn
If my embroidery machine and computer were real people.... he would be taking them out for drinks!
He loves that I have something else to occupy myself... he is reserving judgement on the overall start-up costs. Other than that... it works for him.
Funny, I asked the sales person if a bottle of aspirin was included with the purchase of my machine to save my husband from the heart attack he would have when he saw the receipt. He is happy for me. He just needs a project to work on. Carolyn
Yeah, mine had a whole box of kittens before I even got home.
But, he is right there checking out the products of my efforts.
My Hubby finds projects for me. He even took me to Joanns today for quilt material for a niece..and helped me figure out the designs for the quilt.
Now he is off reading a book and letting me design the quilt. Doing Dolphins and sunsets. These designs always get posted on my website so he is great about encouraging me to keep designing.
Are you a digitizer? What is the name of your website? I haven't read a book since I bought my sewing machine. Carolyn
Oh, you can best bet I won't show that to my DH - he may try something like that for me. I did tell him that I needed one of those pedale things that I could put under my desk to use - wonder if I would use it. My DH teases me about being on the computer "AGAIN?", but I don't think that he really minds.
Your comment made me smile. Thank you. we all need a laugh sometime. Carolyn
Mine used that time to get a book and find somewhere quiet, so he can read in peace. L
I finally got a photo of the treadmill, sorry it took so long. (needed to learn how to insert a photo)
Nope... My husband is a big gammer, so if I'm in my sewing room, I'm leaving him alone. LOL.
My husband enjoy when I am working with my machine because He knows I am so happy, He is trying to get me a bigger machine right now.
No Way... he is always trying to find me extra tables and shelves... if he had an issue with it he would be the first to go! I have two desk top computers in my house and a laptop and he is always sitting in my room with my computer in front of my machine..When I start using the machine he leaves the room.. Wendi LOL
oh my gosh, nope, not my hubby. In fact he is the one that made the decision for me to trade my Janome 9500 in for the 11000SE. He bought me my Dell laptop for my birthday 2 years ago and also the Dell desktop last year for Christmas. Our house rule is, "if I'm happy, he's happy"! We both have our hobbies that we enjoy. Carol
Have to say my husband got me the computer and sewing machine. So I would have to say no. DeVon
Oh yea-mine does too. I just try and explain that is ME. It's what I love to do. He isn't retired yet, I don't know what I will do then!
My Hubbie doesnt mind about all the time I spend on my sewing or embroidery machine, but he got really curious about this site as I kept on talking about it! So I had to show him how it worked!
Not mine because he is also on his computer or in l his workshop doing woodworking. We will be married 37 years in March. When my sewing machine and his woodworking equipment are going 100 mi an hr we are both happy and don't have to pay for marriage counseling.
I have been married to a wonderful man for 25 years. I sent him to get a part for my machine one day and he couldn't find it so he bought me a new machine. Then he got my Brother 780D for Christmas for me. He also bought me a shed and insulated it and fixed it up for all my scrapbooking sewing and crafts. He is the best husband any woman could have.
I just wanted to welcome to amother carolyn !!nice name CAROLYN IN MATACHEWAN ,ONTARIO, CANADA
How clever of him - he must realize how much your enjoy the PC or he wouldn't have built you the shelf - mine used to say things years ago - but he now knows it is part of my life and he also knows alot of the CUTE family names and all about them - so no worries now. He is also my greatest supporter and knows almost as much about embroidery as I do - *4U
We have a house rule. During the day we can each do what we want in our spare time but at 8pm all computers/laptops/phones are switched off so we can spend a few hours together and talking to each other before bedtime.
Welcome Carolyn, My hubby doesn't complain at all. But I do include him with my projects sometimes. I make key fobs and ribbon bracelets so I get him to put the hardware on, (it's a manly thing to do) hehehehe... But most the time he is usually on the net or watching ghost hunters. (can't stand that channel) Again Welcome.
I am on the treadmill rt now and I cant believe how fast the time goes by, thanks for the welcome, this is a whole new leaf for me, maybe I will lose some weight with cuties web site
Well, he's so into that TV that he comes to my sewing room every now and than...I wouldn't have it any other way, LOL ;D *2U
My DH has things that he does and I have mine. He has never said a word about the time I spend with sewing and the Cute family. Perhaps I am just lucky - we both need our space.
That's to funny! Tell him your going to get him a computer so he can play texas holdem! that's what my hubby does! We spend time sitting together this way! hehehe Donna
Thanks for the advise, it is really hard to type, but It gives me a chance to turn the speed down
