Hi, dear! Bright light, whether it is sunlight or flourescent lighting in the house helps depression tremendously by lifting the mood. Sunlight is best, and
the walk (communing with nature, plus the exercise) does
wonders, too. It sounds like your hormones are really low to be having the night sweats, along with the depression. I would recommend strongly going to the doctor to have your hormone levels checked, because depression is a living "hell"; ask how I know! At age 47, I would find myself crying for no apparent reason and tears would flow uncontrollably. My doctor told me my hormomes were "zilch"! As cancer risk was extremely high in my family, I wasn't keen on taking estrogen. She explained to me that the downside of not taking it, was far worse than the risk of cancer; that it does not
CAUSE cancer, but does increase the growth of a tumor, if one develops, and the odds of that were slim. She prescribed the very lowest dose of Estratest H.S.(half strength), and told me I could take it the rest of my life, if I wanted. She told me that even a tiny amount of estrogen kept bones strong, skin, eyes, teeth, and hair healthy, and helped maintain mental stability/focus. I am now an OLD lady; that was over twenty years ago, still taking the one little pill a day. The only other med I take is one for cholesterol. I have never dealt with hot flashes at all, nor have I had any signs of arthritis or joint problems to date. The mental is holding up well, too, I think!! LOL
The Lord has blessed me abundantly, and especially by giving me a well informed female doctor many years.
ago.
Best wishes to you for a much improved spirit. When the clouds come, keep reminding yourself of all your many blessings, seek bright light, and it WILL get better!!

That runs in my family, maybe thats what my problem is! I thought it was the menophase that just started. Maybe its a bit of both.

Oh my goodness...you poor thing. I would get a physical and have them check your hormone level and get this fixed. Nobody likes feeling miserable and I pray your doctor can come up with a remedy. teri

Hope getting out in the sun helps but if it doesn't we all have big shoulders here and we'll get you through anything. Taking vitamin D a couple of times a day could help too since we tend to stay in doors during the winter months. My doctor recommended it to me a year or so ago. Doesn't cure all our mood swings though cause we're gals and wee're suppose to be this way. Hugs, Karen

It depends on your age .. Winter is hard on alot of people... no sun cold air .... chickens and a walk would make me smile too.

I was suffering just the same and My Dr told me that my Vit D count was down (lack of Sunlight). Check with your Dr and you might find by taking Vitamin D will help you. Hope you feel better soon.

I had to get away from my embroidery machine for a while, lol! Went out and watched my chickens for a bit. They always do something to make me smile. And the walk definately helped! Is it normal to have mood swings like this?!?! I don't like it!!!

I think that when we sit by our machines for long periods we are missing out on our sunlight and our Vitamin D count goes down. My count is now back to normal as I take a Vit D capsule each day.

I met someone who works at a rehab unit and they test everyone who comes in for this. It's amazing how many people really are low, it seems! Good comment.

Good Luck, settle down to a day with your embroidery machine after some exercise in the sun.
