I am having Withdrawerals already(if there is such a word) as I have just received notice that power in this area will be off from 8am till 3pm on the 24th. No computer, no machine,no TV. Nothing.

I say time to break out the generator, charge up the computer battery, break out the candles and go for it!

Think it will be time to drag myself away from the house and go somewhere that I haven't been to for ages.

You could look through all those quilt books and magazines you have wanted to for a long, long time.... or clean out your sewing drawers..... or ..... match up all your socks...... or clean out the junk drawer ....... or roll up all your little scraps and label them........ or reorganize and refold all your fabrics ....... or ...... make a long list of all the projects you want to do........ or read a book ... or just stay in bed all day and reread a favorite old book or watch chick flicks and eat chocolate! Whatever you do - have fun and don't do any real work!

Can't watch Chick Flicks as there won't be any power. Don't need any more weight from Chocolate. The rest sound like work. Have a friend who wants some help with her Family Tree program so might spend the day with her. Will wait and see. Still a week away. Thanks. L

IF your car is in the garage and you have an automatic garage door opener, make sure your car is outside first! OH yeah, you can't watch TV!!

Last week I was without power three days in a row for a few hours each day. Monday they moves power lines onto new poles in our area, then after I complained again about our voltage problem coming into the house they removed the new meter (the old one melted a couple weeks ago) on Tuesday and then on Wednesday finally put a new transformer up. Besides being on well water I found endless stuff to do and welcomed the break from depending on electricity and got a lot done. It definitely was quiet without the hum of the refrigerator motor and other things that electricity powers.

It is funny, almost everything we want to do these days involves electricity!! This is when your knitting or crochet comes in handy....

I won't even have any water as I have to rely on a House tank and need power to pump water through my taps. I will make sure I collect water before they turn the power off. Won't hurt to drink water instead of coffee.

I am sure that you will find lots to do. Where we are in SA this happens frequently on Sundays for maintenance and I already hate Sundays - have done since a child.

I am sure I will find something to do. It was supposed to go off last month so I spent almost all day in the Garden. When I came inside I realised that it hadn't gone off. No clocks flashing.

I would start with breakfast, then some shopping, maybe a movie matinee, Lunch and more shopping if necessary. Invite some friends to join you. Have fun the freebies will be here when your power comes on in the evening. Good news you don't have to do housework either.

Gee that's great notice over a week to organise things. Make sure you have plenty of other things to do - gardening maybe!!! You can always do hand work too or those horrible mending jobs or buttons to sew on things. Any of those menial tasks that need doing - like cleaning out your cupboards, DUSTING (my gosh - wash my mouth out with soap for swearing!!!!)or reorganising your wardrobe! I hope some of these suggestions will keep you motivated. At least it's the daytime and you won't need candles! LOL!!!!

Love and blessings Chris

P.S. Or you could sit down with a glass or two or even stay in bed!
