Sounds like this tip would work on Embroidery Library. You should share it there.
Great solution Annie, I will doe that the next time. Will look in projects for your result.
i have placed a photo of the crazy quilt in projects for you to see. the best part of this quilt is the only outlay i had was the fleece for the backing as most of the fabric for the 30 blocks came from sample books that were being thrown out at a local fabric shop. i used sheeting to make the sashing.
Send this hint to embroidery library!! May be the tip of the day!!
I just got my serger in the mail 2 days ago and I wish that these directions made more sense to me!! I'm sure after I get the thing out of the box and work with it a bit it will - but I have 2 quilts that I'm working on quilt as you go and I'd LOVE and easier way to finish them. If I could use that crazy serger to finish them I'd do it in a heart beat - but I don't even know how to turn the machine on - let alone thread it yet!! I'm definitely looking forward to pictures of your quilt!! Sounds lovely!!
your serger has a knife blade that cuts away any excess from the edges as it sews i use this device without thread to cut my stips for quilting and also for neatening the edges of the blocks when crazy quilt as you go work before adding the sashing.. you can use the serger to actually make your quilt and that is my next project.
Great idea! Now I know at least one thing I can do with that blasted serger, hee hee hee. Good for you, love to see it in projects! Hugs, Marji
Good for you to use your brain to solve a dilemma. Thanks for sharing it wit us. I have seen quilts made on the serger here in the states. You might want to check it out.
Nice tip, thank you. You made me very curious, are you going to post the final result in Projects? Would love to see it.
