I just found a pkg deal for 250 spools of thread for $125 plus s&h on amazon.com. Has anyone here ever tried it? It didn't say what kind it was.

I recognize those green spools. It is Poly-X40 polyester thread. I have bought the same thread from www.longcreekmills.com and also from www.embstore.com. I now buy the 5000 meter cones when they have them on sale for $3.99 from embstore. I also love the backing from embstore. No shipping and hand charges on orders of a $100. or more. The thread has a lovely sheen and stitches out with no problems on my machine. I have a Bernina. The price you found of 50 cents a spool sounds like a good deal if they don't charge a lot for shipping. let us know what you decide to do. Kay

The blurb says they are "Kolors Embroidery" make, but a Google search didn't throw up any information (except a suggestion that the colours were the same as Marathon.) I've bought some very very cheap threads from Ebay which I've had a lot of fun with. The colours are glorious but unpredictable. I've bought Marathon threads direct from the importer here in the UK for a reasonable price.

Singer in SA brought out a thread Colourful with the same numbering as Marathon but in Polyester. It sounds very much like that and I have had no problems.

Make sure the thread is not re-spooled. I bought some on Ebay, and it was a real pain.

I agree with Shirlene - find out the brand name and make your decision. I use mostly metroemb.com thread and some Floriani.

I bought this thread as one of my first sets.My Ellageo didn't like it but the PR600 tolerates it better, not that good though. It broke and had knots in it all the time. If you can buy a couple spools first to try it that is what I would do. I buy Metro thread now and it is a 100% different thread. It works great too. I also like the Brother threads and it is not that costly and works great on both my Ellageo and my PR600. Admelody is a wonderful thread too and is not costly especially when they have their sales. It can be purchased on bfc-stash. Right now it is on sale & you can get the big 5000Meter spool for $2.47.
I have no affiliation with any of the companies I've mentioned.

I know nothing about it but it is always a good idea to check and see how many yards or metres are on each spool.

If you are buying from Amazon - you could be getting about anything - you should try to find out the brand name of the thread and then make a decision. *4U
