Shirlene, I think you have such lovely memories of your Mom. Always remember those, and know that she was loved by all, even those of us that did not know her personally.
I believe that it is a strong and loving personality that brings up a daughter with all the energy and spunk that you have.
Hugs and God bless
Marietta
Dear Shirlene,
So happy to have had the opportunity to get to know her a little bit through this wonderful site. I know she is watching over you always. Love and blessings Chris
Chris, thank you and I do know that she is pleased to have known all of you and she is watching over each of us - in her own way - I have her in my heart and love my memories and feel blessed that she had some quality of life in her later days, too.

Stella, thank you dear - I do miss her - but also have those memroies and know she is in a better place and where she is no longer in pain.
Shirlene, it sure sounds like you had a great mom and big shoes to fill, but for the few short months that I have heard from you on this site....you sound very much like your mom.....and remember all the fun and happy time together as they will carry you through....
You put things into words so much better than I Shirlene. I know you must be missing your mother too,as I am missing mine.
I am so grateful to have had my mothers love and caring and I know she is in a better place.
Thank you for all your kind thoughts at that time when you too were hurting.
Hugs, Nadyne
Nadyne, I do miss her greatly - as we all do our loved ones - my memories keep her with me and I know she is where she should be. Thank you.
Shirlene, I didn't know your mother and I've only known you briefly in the short time I've been "hanging" out here at Cute, but I can honestly say your mother must have been a wonderful lady since she raised such a sweet, kind and generous woman such as yourself!
God bless. *4U Deb
Shirlene, I've had the honour to share some of the special moments we lived here, and I think you were blessed to have had as mother such a special person. I think Cute has lost one precious member, but we have gained a new meaning of the word friendship. May we all honour the memory of your mother keeping alive the spirit she spread among us. Hugs and blessings.
She sounds like a GREAT woman and a wonderful role model. The evidence of this clearly shines in you. I wish I'd had the privilege to know her.
Jo
Here is the link for a portrait to Loretta and the link to her other postings:
She was a special lady and loved here.
Carolyn, she adored you and would be grateful that you thought so highly of her.
Always so nice to remember...thanks Shirlene...hugs x0x0x0 Glenda
Hi Shirlene, cannot believe how quickly time passes. It is as if I am reading your posts this morning, not a year ago. How wonderful to be able to pay tribute to a great mom the way you have done and that you have so many great memories of her. Thinking of you and take care of yourself - you are very special. Hope all is well with Rick too.
Eleen, the year didn't pass so quickly for me - however - it doesn't feel like it was that long ago that my Mother passed, either. Thanks you so much - we apprecaite your thoughts for Rick and me.
Shirlene,
I am pleased you shared about your mother with us. I sitll have my mother, and wish I had the relationship you had with yours. She loved you so very much. May God bless you with your wonderful memories of her. Jan
Jan, if you don't have a good relationship now with your Mother - you can try to mend it - before she goes - if that isn't a place you can go - adopt yourself another - so to speak - there are many lonely ladies that need loving in their final days.
Shir ... have you ever thought of uploading these photos to ancestry. com and started a genealogy tree? I have just started to search for some of mine, and noticed that the ones with photos have such a tender, heartfelt memory of their family. These belong there also. GG
GG, I have done all our family history - years ago - with some help from my Mother and cousins on my Daddy's side as he wasn't much help there. I don't know - that I want our family photo's on the site - I think you have to pay for that - most of my family have a full history - as I sent it to them all - we got 10 generations from me on both sides - couldn't get it any farther.
Ah Shirelene you have such a nice way with words .I can say these things but not right them.May our God be with you these days!!is it possible to bring her history up so people like me who never knew her or joined after her death could read it??Carolyn
Noah, thank you dear - don't know how the words come - must be from God. You can put her screen name in the search area - it might bring up that history or it might be under the Miss Loretta Scholarship in a posting.
Ah Shirlene... no words can express how thoughful and meaningful your post is to all of us. We loved Loretta with all our hearts. She truly was the gem on this site.
I say let's toast Miss Loretta's birthday with Shirlene! May we all grow in life to be half the person this woman was!
teri
Shirlene, I did not know your mother but she sounds like she was a wonderful lady. I'm sure that's how you turned out so nice. These anniversaries can be hard but also great because we think back on good times. Arlene
Arlene, thank you dear - you would have enjoyed her humor the most - I love looking back - it is sweet.
What a lovely tribute to your darling Mother, Miss Loretta. She surely passed on her sweetness and loving nature, to you. We all loved that you shared your dear Mother with the rest of us at Cute. I remembered my own Mother, as I read about yours. She will be missed, but I know that her place in heaven with God, is the best place ever.
Love and hugs to you Shirlene,
You're an angel.
Jacqueline
Jacqueline, it was my pleasure - I wanted her to see the CUTE family - so that she could get out of a place that she was growing down - when I arrive in UT - once she saw the love and compassion - it was easy to keep her in that sort of loving way, again.
Shirlene, I remember some of the postings of you visiting with your mom. She was a special caring person as are you. I know our hearts ache at moments like this but we still have such cherished and loving memories as well. They are always in our hearts. Hugs, Charlotte
Shirlene, Thanx for sharing pictures, Your MOM was one great lady. Always thinking of others. Hmmm, maybe thats where you got it!!! Hahaha! Hugs & Loves, Judy
Thanks Judy, I am glad you enjoyed the pictures - and you are right - it might be.
Wasn't part of Cute when your Mom was here, but she certainly has a sweet, helpful daughter! I know you miss her. My little mama will soon be 89, so I know my time is limited with her. I cherish each day. Know you did, too.
P.S. She was BEAUTIFUL, too.
Thnak you my dear - do take every moment that you can with your little mama - the days go by so fast.
Too choked up to write.
Happy Birthday dear Miss Loretta, you are sadly missed and remembered with much love.
Hugs and roses, Meganne
Shirlene, I have read about your mom and she sure was one amazing lady, I salute her, I know you were blessed to have her as a M-O-M spelled A-N-G-E-L. You are one special lady too, Love Shirley
Shirley, so happy to hear that you have read about her and thought she was an amazing lady, too. Thanks!
I joined the Cute family too late to get to know your mom, but to have raised someone as nice as you she must have been really great!
God will be with you at these yearnings moments.
You hug with love, my good friend!
Dilceia, she would have adored you - I am sure of that - thanks dear one.
Thanks to each of you - you are such sweet and gracious people - I had forgotten to add a picture - so here are some for you that come from now on:
1. @ 18 & 81
2. Loretta, her Mother, Dale Jean and Christine
3. my grandmother, Loretta, her grandmother Loretta, and Dale Jean
4. my Aunt & my Mother
5. my Mother - Miss Loretta 2009
a few of you ask where to find this portrait of Loretta - so I searched for it - for you:
http://answers.cuteembroidery.com...
I never did figure out - why my Mother's eyes were so red around the outside in the lst year of her life - do any of you know why this might be?
Shirlene, how can we forget our dear Miss Loretta, she was such a wonderful person that you must have love her if you wanted or not. She was alwasys full of joy and had a great sence of humor. You must know that some days I think a lot of her. You have been blessed to have such a mom. :0)
Thank you Carla - I do apprecaite your memories and your comments - I was blessed.
Shirlene, I understand your loss of such a wonderful mother and friend. I loss mine in 1985 at age 76. She
was so full of love and concern for everyone. The world was full of her "children", because everyone she met she
treated each like her own child, advising them, helping them, and taking them "under her wing", if the need arose. As you, I am so thankful for the fantastic lady I called "mama"! We have special guardian angels looking down on us each day!!
Angel
I, too, didn't get here in time. But I am so grateful for the scholarship that she left behind. I think that she must have been a lot like my own mother (and a lot of others). Mom was also one of my best friends. We at the very least talked daily on the phone in all the years that If was married before she went away. I still have things that I would like to share with her and have a feeling that she knows all about them. So does your mother. And she would be as proud of you as you are of her. Mine left in 1977 and I still miss her. You will never really get over the loss, but it does get easier with time.
Thank you my dear - I do believe you are right about your Mom knowing - I am sure she does.
Miss Loretta was and always will remain a very special lady. I have been a member here almost from the begining, so I well remember her and all her input to the site. Then to learn, after her passing, that you are her daughter!
You maintain the dignity, generousity, personal strengh and warmth that was your mother. She has left a true legacy in you. May you continue to be upheld so you are able to cope will all life has given you to deal with.
Sincerely jjjj
jjjj, thank you so very much for remembering her and her ways, too. I will do my best.
I joined the Cute family too late to get to know your mom, but to have raised someone as nice as you she must have been really great!
Your Mother must have been a Special Lady as you are too.
Lyn, thank you - I believe she was - you ought to read some of her postings and make that judgement for yourself. lorettag28 was her screen name.
I will go and have a look. Love the photos. Take Care. PS. Something I have learned from you. Answer every post that someone has added to your question or statements. L
I am so sorry that I was not here on cute to know your mum Shirlene, She must have been an amazing women. You and Twee are in my prayers now on her Birthday. I have no doubt she is now with God and watching over you and Rick and Teri. God bless you all, and you are always in my prayers. I lit a candle at Church on Sunday for you and Rick. Must have known you needed it this week.
God bless you all. You have been so inspirational to me, you have helped to strengthen my faith so much. I have told you before and I will say it again, you are an angel that God puts into peoples lives, and sometimes you may not even know it, but you touch people and share the love of God with your faith. You have helped me more than you can imagine.
Alice.
Alice, thank you very much - what a sweet thing to say - you have my eyes leaking and I can not type more.
That would be pay back Shirlene, you have my eyes leaking all the time, with what you endure and how you endure it, and the strength and compassion you have,We could make a movie about you and it would be a blockbuster chick flick requiring boxes of kleenex, because you are totally awesome and gracious and so very humble, just like Christ himself told us we should be.
Shirlene, this is a beautiful tribute for a beautiful lady. Thank you. I know it has to be a very difficult time for you, yet you have warmed our hearts.
Karen, thank you dear - there were years to be sad and years to be happy - I know she is in a better place and I am not having a difficult time with it - really.
