unrecognizable, etc. I always assume the problem lies with me but if I stitch out a design I have purchased with small letters they stitch out fine. It is when I try to add wording my my designs disaster strikes. It makes me so frustrated. So anyone with knowledge of a site with well digitized alphabets. Just the plain ones not fancy. Thanks Becky

Becky, try e-mailing the ones that you purchased letters from. Explain your problems also if you can send a picture of your sew out. Ask them for any suggestions that they may have to help you. Do not do this with anger, just facts!! Most sites are willing to help with any problems. I have also found with small letters to use bobbin thread in bobbin and on your machine of the same colors. Hope this is helpful. H&*

The problem with small lettering is likely to be that the digitizing software is set for a standard pull compensation and density. for tiny little letters it must have these things set to less. What I mean is that when you are digitizing a design you must allow for the push and pull for the machine to move around, so you will have to allow some movement, also you put more stitches in for a standard fill stitch etc... but with tine letters you must reduce this, because you need fewer stitches and you don't want them all bunching together. Software that is not proper digitizing software, and not knowing what you are doing will of course make your little letters all bunch together and not stitch well.

Becky,
Try lowering the density on your letters. If you have Embird......I use a density of 7 for small letters. PM me and I will try to help you with the alphabets you have.

One more thing, when I do small lettering I always take my machine off Auto tenssion, and put it on about a 1.2 or so, try that, loosten it up a little, you might be AMAZED AT THE DIFFERENCE I WAS!!!!! Sharron, just try it on a scrap until you get the right tension for your machine, I almost promise this will work with the alpha, you already have.

If you have never tried 8 claws and a paw, you should give them a look. I get most of my fonts from them and have always been satisfied.

I have nearly every font from them (I had a membership - amazing) If you go to their site and look at their fonts - let me know which fonts might work for you and let me know what wording you are trying to stitch out - I'll be more than happy to do it for you. Also let me know what you are trying to stitch on... At least that way you won't be spending more money until you know it works!

I do understand that - I only offered to stitch out fonts that she may like prior to her purchasing them - to see if they stitched well. Sorry if it didn't come across that way.

I use the free Embroidery Fonts Plus software and you can make the letters whatever size you want. It comes with 3 free fonts and I've bought several more.

Sorry, Becky. I have DesignerPlus (by Bernina) and it has alphabets with it, so I don't buy anything like what you are talking about, but I will be watching for you.;)
