had some towels she wanted embroidered for her new granddaughter, but she needed to wash them first. I told her to wait until the embroidery was done, that way she could wash the solvy off at the same time. So she brought the towels. she had them in her cupboard for ages, and one of them had a big dust mark on it, they are white so it looked real bad. I showed my husband all of my embroidery jobs including this one and I said "I so want to wash this towel". at the same time I have had my expensive dress crisis, http://answers.cuteembroidery.com... So when he went to bed I read siencewidows answer and went and put my dress back in the washing machine, with dry bleach and detergent. Well like a blood hound but with ears instead of nose in tune, my DH comes marching down the stairs and says. "you couldn't help yourself could you? you had to wash those towels". I had to show him the post where I had asked for advice about my ruined dress. So he has gone off to be again quite satisfied.

Oh, I hope they take the dress back, now that you put bleach in with it they might not take it back. Keep us posted!

I can only try. I might also have to try and tell a lie, I am not very good at that.

For those of you waiting with baited breath,my dress has not been rescues with the second wash, it is in fact worse. So back to the shop tomorrow. It cost me about $180.00 so I am not going to just throw it away.

that is too bad - I do hope they give you a refund.

At that price I wondered that you didn't have a label saying dryclean only. However there is a product call dye fix by dylon which is supposed to stabilize colour but i think it's too late now. Hope you get a refund!

Oh no, not yet, but the lady is not picking them up until Tuesday. I have no doubt I will have washed them by then.
