This is going to turn out very nice. Remember to show us when u'r finished.
Heres a start of how it will look!
What about using the extra fabric for the backing and piecing a strip through the middle to coordinate with the front blocks?
As long as you have not cut into the fabric, and have your reciept, have not washed it, you should be able to take it back. I have worked for both JoAnn's and Hancock, we always did.
I bought 4 yards and have 2 left, so yes I've cut into it. So I guess I'm stuck with it, lol!
You are not alone in this mistake. I am sure we all can tell our own stories. Now you have some great ideas of what to do with the wildernes fabric.
This is something I do go shopping thinking I know how much I need and get home and find like you I have far to much of one and not enough of the other...very frustrating...perhaps you could make pillow shams with the extra wilderness print...Hugs Sally
Oh dear!I never leave home without my fabric list, color, amts, etc. Sorry you learned the hard way. But, all is not lost, you could use your "extras" for pillow cases or pillow shams. Carol
maybe tomorrow or next week you are happy and glad that you have 2 yards of wilderness on hand to make somebody happy - who knows why you did have to buy them. Let them shine! Sorry for the shortage on the other side.<br />Sue
make some matching pillows to go along with your bedspread. You'll come up with an idea. When I get in the fabric store I always over buy. But it does get used somewhere along the line. Better to have too much than not enough. That's my motto! LOL

As a geneeral rule I usually buy and extra 1/4 yard. In the past I gave that to my grnadmother to make into quilts for my daughters, but that was years ago. I am now the one making quilts and I'm just learning. The quilt I bought this material for is the first time I did not use my stash to make a quilt. Its the first "fancy" quilt I'm doing, lol!
Sorry you had to learn the hard way. I'm sure you won't have that happen again.
You sure wouldn't like shopping for materiel with me as I never have anything specific in mind. I just happen to be near a fabricland and if I haven't been in one in a while (we no longer have one where I live) I NEED to go in and see what they have. I've walked out of there with quite a bit of materiel - with no clue what I'm going to make out of any of it. It always turns out though.
So, I'm sure you will find something to do with your excess materiel. Good Luck!
