Meganne, fat quarters is nothing to do with body parts, haha!!! I copied this about fat quarters for you - *What is a fat quarter? A yard of fabric is cut off of the bolt. A second cut is made at the half-yard point (18"). The folded edge is then cut off of both ½ yard pieces, which yields four pieces that measure approximately 18"x 22". This fourth of the yard is called "fat" in contrast to the regular "skinny" quarter which measures 9"x44". What can you get from a FAT quarter? 80=2"squares 35=3"squares 20=4"squares 12=5"squares 6=6"squares*. Hugs and a flower for you sweetie, hope you're feeling good.

Quilters swear by fat quarters, they're the bees knees!

thanks so much for the answer Ruthie, but I think i must be having a dense moment! It's all too complicated for me i'm afraid {:-0 I don't do quilting so guess that's why i'm not up with it and find it difficult to comprehend, why not just buy a yard of material by whatever the width is???? I'm Really Confused by this.I suppose you have to be a dedicated quilter to know what advantage it is huh? ROFL! cheers & cyberoses for all, Meganne

Raels, I keep hearing/seeing the term 'fat quarters', and wondering just what does it refers to?
Is it a quilting thing or a USA thing we're now picking up on? Thanks & a cyberose, Meganne
