Do you have an instruction manual with your machine? If not, or a CD would be better go to: http://www.brothermachines.com/sh... You can order a manual or CD if you can not locate a new dealer to help you.
mimi, TruSizer and Ambassador are good but you can only view one design at a time, here is a link to a little program that allows you to view your designs as thumbnails in Windows Explorer, exactly the same way as you would view pictures and photos. There is a 7 day free trial, and the program only costs $20. Hugs and flowers sweetie. http://sandscomputing.com/sandsco...
I love the SewIconz program. It is so easy for getting designs organized, and such a great price.
This looks like all I need for now. I just want to see the pictures, dimensions, etc. of my downloaded files. Is that what this program does?
mimi, when you hover over the thumbnail of the design, it tells you the type, as in jef/pes etc, number of stitches, how many colors, and dimensions. It's a terrific program.
mimisews2, T download to my Hard drive and when I want to see I check it thru my Ultimate Box ( one of the best things I have ever bought (& my Rolling Sewing machine caddy )) Every so often I save to CD. A flower for you.
I download the trial version of embird and when I download a design it comes up as a thumbnail pic. And I can print out a complete CD folder in thumbnails
All right! Here we go dear. any thing any of us may want, almost: http://www.embroidery2u.com/embro...

If anybody sees hazelgrace, drag her back here! (Englander) She has THIS machine. I bet you could get some help from brother-usa.com. They probably would even refer you to a dealer near you.;)
Thanks for all your help. I have a Brother Ult 2002D. I bought a used machine because it was more machine for the money I had to spend, and I love it, I just haven't had anyone to teach me much about it. I've gotten lots of advice from reading your posts. Thanks and *'s to everyone who answered. I'll look into software.
I have a brother 4000D and a PC6500, I use the PED Basic to see my designs. The free Wilcom Truesizer is very eash to use and will let you see the designs. I have just started using it and really like it. You can teach an old dog new tricks!!haha But talking to your machine dealer is a very good idea. flowers Sue
You might try using resizing or conversion software. Here is a web site that has the Wilcom Truesizer and the Pulse Embassador, both of them allow you to see the design and convert the design into another machine format. http://www.myembroideryhaven.com/...
not sure what machine you have I have a brother 4000D and i use the brother PE design software. the designs will not open in your computer unless you buy the software box that attaches to your computer otherwise it just says error in reading file.
usually you can get the best info from where you bought your machine, they'll know exactly what software - if any - that you need. I've got 4D Embroidery that I got from my Husqvarna dealer. Works great.
What ever converter box you use to transfer your patterns to your sewing machine will have the necessary software with it. If you haven't purchased it yet, make sure your sewing machine format, pes, sew, vip, etc is compatible with your new converter box. It should say right box and in your sewing machine manuel. Knowing this will save you a lot of problems. Happy sewing!
If you have a Brother machine as I do you need the PED Basic software card writer; as far as I know, then you are able to open any design to look at in that software.
That is what I have, too. I purchased ped7 last fall. I really like that, too. If you want a trial version Brother offers it on their web site.
I'm not sure either. Once it goes to your machine, do you have a screen to view the designs? Can you save it in machine or only on the disk or usb stick? Tell us what machine you have. Someone is bound to have machine and they can advise you. People are most helpful on this site.
I think you need a software program to read the designs after downloading because the computer will not recognize the vip, pes or what ever the files are named. Hope you can do anything woth this answer, if not please contact your machine dealer and ask for advise. Good luck *4U
Sorry sweetie, I don't have an answer for you. I started out with software and have never been without it, so I don't know how you would be able to see it. What does your machine dealer say? ;)
My dealer moved out of town after I bought my machine. I'll have to find another dealer to help me. Thanks
to disc, which my Brother machine reads. I would love to be able to look at these designs before I go to my machine. Any help?
I think you need some sort of software for the computer to do that unless you machine has that capability.
