When stitching FSL what tension do you use? At the moment I have it on 1.4 and it seems to be OK, but would be interested in what others use. Lyn

I have a Duetta 4500. The default is set at 4.0 but I always change it to 4.2 for FSL. Charla

I didn't alter my tension for FSL when I had brother 1200. I have a Janome MB now.

I have the low end Brother SE-350 and my tension was set on 4 when I got it, I started having problems with the bobbin thread showing on top so I had a guy work on it and he adjusted the bobbin tension and then lowered my top tension to about 3.5. Over Christmas I did 98% FSL and left the tension the same and it all came out beautiful. Good luck!

Thank you. I can see I will have to have a play on something that is not going to be important. Lyn

I don't alter the tension in my pr620 when I am doing lace. I only alter the tension when it needs to be altered. So my theory is if it is not broke don't fix it. If what you are doing is working then keep doing it.

Again I guess it is like us. The same thing doesn't suit all of us and machines can differ just a fraction. Thanks. Lyn

I use 4.0 or 3.8 if I want it tighter on my Brother ULT 2001.

Thank You. I am going to try different settings to find one that I am happy with. Lyn

on both my innovis 700 II and my PR600
I use default setting
I have the theory that as I use same thread top and bottom the tension should be ok on default.
and I have found that to be fine..
although through trial and error I have noticed
that some very dense designs do run better on the slowest available setting.

Hey Lyn,
I love to stitch FSL, and on my ULT2003d I just use the default setting. IF the thread starts to unravel I turn the tension down just one level. It turns out really great. My favorite FSL is Yorikos. What's fun is to put on a FSL design when I go to bed - one that is all one color, and when I wake up, it's all finished.
Sewinhuggs - I'll give yours a try too! Thanks!

You are brave. I would never do this. You can bet that if I walk away from my machine something happens. Lyn

I had the 780D and now I have the 6000D (Quattro) and I always use the default settings and mine comes out fine that way.

Thankyou I will finish the doily that I am doing at 1.4 otherwise it will be all wrong but will try on the default next time. I only did this because when I bought this machine 5 years ago the lady told me she often takes it down to zero.

I did not try FSL yet, only had my machine for Christmas, but I would be also very interested by the answers you get.
Hugs Lyn.

I don't change the tension from the default setting, but I must add that I usually stitch FSL on a different machine than Brother (I have a 190D stand alone).
