I have a long way to go to get these as sharp as yours, but they are quick, except for that hand work. I need to work on making sharper corners so that these will really pop. I have used a linen fabric here. I did not stitch the entire design for the back side, and used only the 1st and 3rd color changes for the back. This design stitches beautifull, and Martine has done an excellent job with this. I do think that I would like some type of decorative stitch around the seams to set it all off, what do you think? Wonder if I can remember how to do some of the hand embroidery???? LOl

Nice work!! Good idea to embroider only the blue heirloom stitch at the bottom part.

I've been thinking when I woke up during the night that it would be nice to do a fairly thick stitch around the outside ( e.g. a triple or bean stitch by machine), press the seam allowance to the inside and whip stitch the two parts together with embroidery floss (all 6 strands of it) that would give a decorative cordlike seam. Intend to try it out this morning.

Looking forward to seeing that!

Oh like that idea - It sure would be easier than doing embroidery stitches that I used to hate to do anyway. LOL

I mentioned in an earlier post. To get the wadding in the corners, pus a pin in the flat parts try to hook some wadding with the pin and drag it back to fill the flat parts. Have seen some of these also with beads around the edges. Lyn

I was too lazy to get up and go across the house to get a tool I have for it. Live and learn. Hopefully my next one will be better - oh yeah - I am planning on making more - good gifts for the SIL's

I like the framing around it. It brings the colors out. These are so pretty.
