Many sites want one to join Yahoo to get any free designs. I did this one time, and my e-mail was so tyed up I could not use it for a very long time. Has anyone had this problem? H.*.

Most Yahoo groups give their members freebies but that is not the only reason to join a group. Groups consider you a 'lurker' when you do not contribute to the group and only 'lurk' about the posts and files they have. If you join a group you should do so to participate not just to take the 'gifts' of free designs they offer their members. Most people do not have the time to participate in but a handful of groups. If you just belong to a few groups and still get too much email from them choose, in your group's preferences, to have only the 'special notices' sent to you and choose to read posts online instead of receiving every message that is posted. That will get rid of the tons of posts emailed to you everyday. Very few people want or need to (except for group moderators and owners or those who belong to just a couple small groups) get every post sent to their email box.
No moderator I have ever know, nor myself (I am a moderator of several groups) has EVER got mad at anyone for just receiving special notices unless it is because they are a 'Lurker'!!! They do NOT send out SPAM and if this ever does occur and you have proof you should contact Yahoo Groups since it is not allowed and not acceptable.

Good group moderators are generally not SPAMmers.. there are probably a few groups that may do this but there are MANY illegitimate websites (not here and not at SICKs or other decent sites)with freebies that lure you with freebies in order to send you zip files with spyware such as tracking cookies hidden inside. That's why you must always scan free zip files. THAT is probably where most people are getting all the 'junk'... not from the groups you have joined but the websites you send your email addy to for the freebies or from tracking spyware in the zip files.
Moderators of large groups know people do not have the time or email box space to get every single posts and never have I met a moderator/owner who cared if you only got the 'special notices'....unless someone is just a 'lurker' then they may get upset. A lot of time and effort goes onto creating and maintaining a group, it is not just a place for people to come and take advantage of the generosity of the other members. Groups are not just places to get freebies, that is a gift for participating members from the owner/moderator/fellow members. If you want to join a group you need to participate otherwise don't join a group!

All my friends! I have come to the conclusion that the few designs I recieved are not worth the hassel of all the rest of the problems. I was finally able to cancel, however, it took a very long time. Thanks for all replies. H.*.

Yes, I have an account on yahoo just for that. I didn't give my regular email address and in a normal day I can have more than hundred emails. I just mark them like junk but I always receive more. flower and XoXo

dlmds, I also do the digest or special notice - you can always go to the group and look for their freebies on a regular basis - once a month would work for me. Hehehe! *4U Glad to see you back.

Oh you bet it sure does.Fills you right up every day. I have 2 mail boxs one for orders and a my immediate family 3 or 4 friends. The second one is just for groups. That one I go and delete after a quick scan. Seems to be the only way for me to handle it. Good Luck maybe somebody else has a better way.Tulips and warm hugs to you.

Goto your group. Next to your e-mail address you will see edit membership, click this then in step 2 select digest or which ever you would like to the right of digest. That should help.
