With everyone raving about metro threads can someone please tell me where I can order them in Australia. I had the link once but I formatted my computer without saving it.

On October 10 last year I ordered the box of 66 basic colours for $46.20, three spools of variegated thread at 99c each and two packs of prewound bobbins at $3.00 each from MetroEMB.comm, total price $55.17, and had the parcel sent to my daughter's home in Arizona. I paid by Paypal. The shipping cost $10.58. Total all told..... $65.75, making 69 spools of thread and 2 packs of prewound bobbins a very cheap investment.
Even with currency exchange the thread was still under $1 a spool.

The parcel was waiting for me when I arrived and I brought it home with me.

I haven't used any of the tread yet but it's calling loud and clear, 'Use me, use me!!'

I don't know the cost of shipping to Australia from MetroEMB.com and that's something you'd need to email them and ask about. Chris P. could probably let you know.


I guess someone would be kind enough to do the shopping and shipping for you if you put out some feelers on the List.

I might have to do that, it looks like they are tacking on quite a bit for shipping. But it is still not bad value at around $3.50 per spool.

Good news Alice, they do ship to Australia and they do accept paypal. Send them an email for more details.

Yes Bev, but we only have two choices, 20 x 5,000 mtr spools or 34 x 5,000 mtr spools, with no choice of which colours we would like.

I would like to be able to buy some individual 1,000 mt spools to see how my machines like it before I committed to buying more and I don't think I would want the 5,000 metre spools other than for white, black, Christmas red & Green.
And worse luck Metro won't sell individual spools to us at all.

I feel very unloved. :-((( (lol!)

Thank you Bev and Meg. I probably won't mind having the large spools. I do go through an awful lot of thread. I am sure I would use it. eventually.

I might have to come for a holiday to visit you Bev.

Sorry Alice, they aren't available here and the only way we Aussies can buy them is to buy a whole set.
I had written to them once before and asked if they would reconsider the choices they have offered to us, also if they would add Paypal as a payment option, their reply was:<

There are other people who has ask us to have paypal as another option for payments.

I don't think they sell it here Alice, that's why I got Shirlene to get the whole lot for me. It still worked out cheaper getting them through her than me buying them direct from the company. They wouldn't send me the whole as I was from Australia and I wanted the whole lot!!! LOL!!! Love Chris

P.S. I'll wait and see what other people have to say.
