Thank you all for your ideas and warm welcome. I know I will love it here - you've given me lots of ideas and will hopefully post a picture of what I've accomplished. I did get a little side-tracked yesterday and stitched out a cute paper doll - The granddaughters will love it to play with when they visit. Thanks again for the ideas and warm welcome!
I think for the use children put things through, I'd go with the bag or basket liner! The FSL won't stand up to the rough & tumble of kids, I don't think. But am sure they'll love whatever you do!!
You could buy or make plain canvas bags, embroider them close to the top, then turn inside out and make them shorter with a flat bottom, to stand like a little basket.
*4u!

Jacqueline
I used baskets and made liners (you can purchase baskets with ready-made liners, but the quality is better if you make the liners yourself). I'm attaching a photo of two I made last year.
punky1015, WELCOME to the CUTE family - if you make FSL Bowls or Basket - expect to use alot of thread and have lots of time to get all the parts stitched and assembled.
with 4x4 I would say a bag. You can put lots of designs on fabric in different places, then make the bag.
I have done several things for the grands over the years, but most were in larger hoops. I did little pockets this year to put money or candy into, but they are now teenagers. I am sure that doing a small bag that can be picked up at the Dollar tree and putting a cute Easter design on it would be good. One year I took little baskets and made them to look like a bunny. I too made FSL for them one year, but if your grands are small they don't hold up to the rough treatment that they get.
