With the permission of Martine, I did a little changing of the flower in the biscornu. I am doing this for a friend's birthday, and it was going to be violets. I also tried to do a hand edge around to accent the edges. That took me all afternoon - hand stitiching is not my forte. But, I do like the outcome, and will be do a couple other items with the design to add to the gift.

This is wonderful! Your friend is going to love it! I love the handwork you did on the edge - well worth the time you invested! *4U

Very petty. I also hate to hand sew.

Beth - this is darling - I like the violet and you actually could have added some beads while you were hand stitching - to give it another look - as well. *4U

If you had seen me trying to do that with my fumbling fingers - LOL Maybe I can give it a try next time.

Oh yes - the list is growing. We are going to make Suzette make another one.

Google biscornu - they seem very popular with cross-stitchers There are endless variations :)

Do you have any software? If so then you can probably change it up some. That is what I did. I picked out a violet I had in my stash, and edited it to Martine's design - with her permission.

When you find a site with patterns that are the right size you can make these pincushions. Quilt Blocks can be adapted. Lyn

Great idea, Lyn - thanks for the suggestion. I bet I have some that will work.
