Embroidery software from Viking. A unopened box with all the accessories in it. I would like to know whether to buy 4D or 5D. Waiting for your kind suggestions. Thank you. God bless. Viva Carnival. Bernadette de Souza.

I started with the 3D, upgraded to 4D and have not purchased the 5D. There are no more updates for the 4D now that 5D is out. I'm still thinking on it as there is suppose to be a good sale on the 5D if you trade in one of their old software programs. Good until the end of March. You can go on the Viking website for more information. http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/

If you can afford it, I'd go with the newest version 5D.

Now that 5D has been launched 4D will not be supported for much longer. Support for 3D, which I have, finished some time ago, when 4D was launched.

I attended a 5D demonstration and sales meeting last Thursday and was told this.......
By getting 4D you will be able to upgrade to 5D Embroidery or 5D Embroidery Extra, and I was quoted just over $1000 and $1799 for those.
To buy 5D outright is %2599.
It seems to me to be a backward step and added expense to get 4D and then need to upgrade if you can afford 5D.
5D is certainly user-friendly, is very comprehensive and does wonderful things. A completely new program has been written and the Wizards cut out many of the steps in the older programs. I was also told that Husqvarna brings out a new program about every five years. That means that 5D will have a five year life and then become a non-supported program, too.
Being forced to upgrade or buy another expensive program seems that Husqvarna is not caring for its customers who have supported the company thus far.

Just be sure to do all the research before you decide.

I'd agree with Mops, they are no longer supporting (updating) 4D. I haven't updated my 4D pro since finances won't allow it at the moment, but I hope to be able to soon. Happy Carnival! I'd love to see some pictures!

If you can get 5D you'll have new updates for a year. 4D is no longer updated now that 5D is there.
Have a nice day!

5D is the new version. I did not purchase it, as I have not learned all of the ins and outs of the 4D Pro. I got it thinking I would digitize, but that was a joke. I was told 5D may be a little more user friendly, but I will stick with what at I have at the moment. Have fun at Carnival.
