I stitch paper dolls on 2 layers of heavy cutaway. then when it gets to the final outline stitch I float timtex or peltex on the back so it covers all the stitching. I have also stuck a popsicle or craft stick to the back before adding the timtex, and it makes them so much more stable. To get the clothes to stick I use Aleenes Tack It Over&Over. If you use a tacky glue it is a good idea to store the clothes on a piece of plastic sheeting to keep dust and stuff from sticking to them when not being used. Hope that helps a little.
Hi diannem. I used a heavier muslin fabric so that the dolls and their outfits have some weight. I used the sticky backed velcro tape (smooth side on the back of the doll and clothes, prickly side on the book page) so the girls could take the clothes and doll off the page. The soft side of the velcro on the back of the clothes insures that when the dress or what ever is put on the doll it doesn't prick the paperdoll stitching. Hope this helps. If you have more questions, let me know. Have Fun!
diannem, I think you are looking for dkjack - she is the one that made the paper doll quiet books. *4U
