Has anyone made a rag quilt with just 2 layers of flannel instead of 3?

The 3 layers were not that bad but 2 could be easier!

Never made a flannel one, but two layers of cotton with a filling of batting, turned out fabulous, not too heavy but very cozy.

I did a three layer and found it extremely heavy. Want to try two layer but embroidery got in the way! (As did Cute!!!)

Living in Florida, the 3 layer is heavy.

I have made two that way because that's how my instructions are. Never thought of having more layers- can't wait to try that!!!!
P.S. The two layers turned out great!

Yes, I have made a couple and they turned out great. I think it all depends on how thick/heavy you want your quilt.

Thanks, I wanted it more as a light spring throw.

I haven't yet, but already have one planned. I have one child that is already hot natured, but loves home made.

I have made before the embroidery machine, just flannel that I serge the side. It is a great summer blanket to watch tv if there is a chill in the air.

I agree, I am sure you could - but the fluff wouldn't have as much volume.

No, but I made one with a layer of flannel and a layer of denim. We did this as an educational workshop for the 4-H. We cut up old jeans for the denim patches. It works really well, adds some body to the quilt and makes it sturdier.

No, I haven't, but I'm sure you could, just would have as much "rag" on the edges...;)
