People have been taking about sizing these patterns for their machines. Thought I would try and see what the smallest of this design would be on my machine. The machine played up all afternoon as it is tired of making these. the small one is 4 inches across x 1 and a half inches deep. I have seen smaller done with Cross stitch. Guess it depends on what count of the cross stitch fabric you use.

Think we might see the end of them. Everyone must be getting sick of them and moved onto something else. My machine today said that is the last Thank Goodness.

Lyn, these are both stunning - so sorry - your machine is throwing a fit - Hehehe! I like the smaller one and would love to learn cross stitch to do a really small one - wonder if we have someone that knows how to make cross stitch on the embroidery machine - that would tackle this?

How about Martine, Actually I haven't seen her around. Hope she is OK and just busy, or haven't I been looking closely? Lyn

I've been away, but I'm back.
When you do cross stitch by hand you use an open weave material like aida, which you can fold very easily next to the stitches. Machie cross stitch can be done on aida - I've seen nice examples made by a Husqvarna lady, but that requires very skilled hooping. I'd rather do it by hand. BTW I still use a cross stitch pincushion - a small square one - that I made at school when I was 8 yrs old.

Shirlene - http://www.theflossbox.com/ has some free cross stitch patterns. I stitched one out over the weekend, I only had 16ct aida on hand so it came up a little smaller, but I love it.
