I purchased Rayon thread from a chinese cie. It is a copy of another brand. The catalog is blue and they removed all logos. The color numbering starts at 1621 (white) to 2068. Any idea who it is..

Patricia, I do wish you luck - I always say - buy top quality if you want your work to LQQK good and better than what the store sell - I know if you have purchased it - you would want to use it - do as the others have suggested - test it out - see what it does - who knows you may have gotten a really good deal. Can't answer whose brand it might be, though! Hehehe! *4U

prampelb, welcome to our *Cute* family, hope you enjoy yourself here. I have to agree with silver, it just might cost you more in the long run. But it sounds like you've already bought, so I would suggest that you try it, you never know, it just might be okay. I'd be tempted not to use it for anything important - like gifts, or on expensive fabric. Hugs and a flower for you sweetie.

I have to agree with silver, very good answer silver. I bought some bargain thread when I first started, just to find out it has small knots thru it. When I try to use it it keeps breaking. I know the good thread is pretty spendy. I buy a few at a time. It will save you many headaches tho. H.*.

I am not trying to be harsh with you 'prampelb' but I think people should know a few things about such 'bargains'.
It could be one of dozens of companies over there. It could be from a supplier to another name brand minus the markings but I doubt it. It is probably what is called a 'knock-off' item (looks the same but lesser quality). If the name brand company caught them selling the same item with no brand they would lose their contract. I am sure if you got it at a great price tho it is probably from one of the many hi-production low cost sweat shop type factories that dot the country. The employees have it even worse than at most factories since the item(s) they produce is so much cheaper and they generally work without long term contracts. My sister has visited China on numerous occasions since her husband is Chinese (from Hong Kong) and does quite a bit of business over seas. She will no longer buy anything from such places. Rarely, if ever, is it worth buying cut-rate thread (especially) or other embroidery supplies. You may save a bit now but in the long run it often costs you in quality and time.
Check this site, you may find the thread you
mentioned:
http://www.alibaba.com/home.vhtml
Select China from the country drop down menu and type in the search box: Rayon Embroidery Thread
Several items meeting your criteria came up when I did so.
