I would love to see photos of how others display/organize their embroidery thread, I wondered about the wallboard with holes in it that men hang tools on if that would work. Any ideas?

Happy late Birthday! I ordered a few colors of Metro to try. Have a Bernina 200 and it is really picky on thread. Tried it out and had no problems at all. I store mine in the plastic cases from JoAnn. Was wondering how you are going to keep up with the color #s. They are only on the little label on top that you have to go through. I first thing used a extra fine Sharpie and wrote it on the bottom edge. Other than that the price is really good right now and even when not on sale. Would love all colors. ♥

Thanks for the B-day wish. When I stitch something out, I often choose my own color choice so really I don't pay attention to the color number. I have a difficult time following a cooking recipe too! LOL *4U

I do too. Was mainly wondering for reordering. What I might do is mainly pay attention to the few colors I tend to use a lot. ♥

Happy Belated Birthday! I store mine in stacking plastic drawers under my sewing table. I need to keep the dust off them (I live in Phoenix Arizona and it is very dusty here). I did the rainbow thing - reds, yellows, blues, greens, purple/black/white, brown/tan (I have six drawers). Seems to work good fo rme.

Thanks for the b-day wish. Seems as though the drawer system works great for many people. I do have space for a small cart. will look into that. Thanks again for your advise. ~Carolyn~

Carolyn Happy Belated Birthday - you should have let us know - we would have baked you a cake and thrown a party. I am so glad that you like your thread - I have slightly clear storage drawers for mine - as I can't afford to do much else - but it sure works for me and I don't get dust or light on my thread, either.

You are and angel Shirlene. I have only been on this site for 3 months and I always see your enlightening responses on almost every post. You make many people happy. Thank you very much for your Birthday wish. Drawers may be what I go with, I am going to keep checking the posts. Thanks again, Carolyn

Happy birthday for yesterday.

Now with regards to my Metro thread sets - I keep them in 3 drawers inside my wardrobe away from light, dust and heat especially here in Newcastle. It's hot, humid and windy!! I like the idea of the wall hanger but I reckon it's best to keep the thread away from natural nasties like mentioned above.

Just my opinion. I have the same set and aren't they gorgeous?

Love and blessings Chris, Newcastle, Australia

Chris, Thanks for the Birthday wishes. I like your advise about keeping the thread in a container that keeps light and dust off of it. My small gutterman mini spools I keep in a wonderful plastic organizer from JoAnnes but I got the metro minis and I need to check to see what my options are. I have not stitched anything with the thread yet but the colors and the sheen of the thread are fabulous. I am so addicted to this website I dont get much embroidery done during the work week, I'll probably try it out on Friday. Thanks Chris! I have never been to Austrailia but I here it is beautiful. I am happy for you. Its cold and rainy hear today in Michigan. Take care, Carolyn

Congratulations and Happy Birthday! Now check the bottom for how to store the tail of the thread, lol! Some of us are just now finding out that (at least on the small spools) you can pull down the bottom, I didn't know till about 5 minutes ago and am thrilled I won't have to use ponytail holders anymore!

This one is so cool, I'd love to have it. Others are concerned about fading and dust but I don't worry about that, mine are out of the light and dust is all over my house!

carolyn70 by carolyn70 09 Mar 2011

Thank you for sharing that link. I never saw that photo before. It does look very pretty and functional. Maybe I'll have to give my husband a homework project to make him feel included with my crafting. Right now I just put my thread in Ziplock bags according to color. LOL

Happy Birthday!
I've seen people use the wall board. I wouldn't do it unless it was in a cabinet so it doesn't get dusty or fade from light exposure.
