oh dear-not yet Sue-and I have the same machine as you-but then again-I haven't done any DBC designs in a while-I have many saved, but not stitched. Are the designs by the same digitizer and were they JEF format originally or did you convert? ~linda~
They weren't DBC this time - just freebies I'd downloaded from various sites.
I'm having this problem again - probably because I have a project on with a short time limit! The designs I have converted from .PES using Wilcom are corrupted. I've downloaded Pulse Ambassador to convert some .VIP files and the same has happened with them. Everything looks fine until I put the card in the machine.
My 10001 has done it a few times. A couple of times it was that the design was saved in a hoop size it didn't recognise, and when I changed the hoop in my software, then it worked fine. Took me a while to figure out what was upsetting it though.
I have a Janome 10001 & I have the same problem, sometimes the file is corrupt & I do just what you did & it was fine too. If I have trouble downloading a design I do this too as sometimes I can't get a jef. I try it first but if not I go for the pes.
Sue, try resetting your card....I had this happen a couple of times and all I did was to push release button for the adapter and pushed adapter back in and it worked just fine....go figure. Guess our machines have bad days too...lol. Hope this works for you too.
I've found a solution - I downloaded the designs again in PES and converted them to JEF! Machine had no trouble reading them.
Yay Sue- glad to hear you found a solution. Actually, alot of the designs I have gotten are PES and I have to convert them-I am so glad Terri told me about Pulse quite some time ago-I was passing up designs because of the JEF limit.
I have the Pulse Ambassador too It will do the vip for me too as my Janome can't!
hmmm... good to know-I haven't had that happen yet Sue-but then again, I spend way too much time downloading designs and trying to keep my paying customers alterations done to be able to play with and enjoy my machine as much as I would like. Hoping to be able to do some this weekend. BTW-I also have the MC9700-what other "go with's" do you have for yours. I have a bunch of stuff and haven't even touched on any of it really-(Customizer10000, DigitizerMB, Clothsetter, gigahoop, sock/cuff hoop. I didn't get the card reader 10000 when I got my machine-didn't think it was that necessary.
A friend that my husband works with gave me an 8 in 1 reader/writer that I use to transfer designs to the memory cards with. Yadda, yadda, yadda... lol-sorry I rambled ~linda~
Nice to know someone else who uses the same machine!I didn't get any software with mine. I have a card reader in my PC.
oh nice Sue-I don't have that on my PC-just the slot for my camera cards.
Sorry Sue, I do not use my m-card so much, like the usb stick better and only had a problem with one design so far, it was to big. Hope somebody else can help.
Janome MC9700 takes memory cards only-directly in the machine-we can't use usb sticks in our machines
I know this is a drag too I am always sticking that stupid thing from my pc to machine & it's a real pain! The new one 11000 has a spot for the usb sigh............
LOL-Put it on the top of your "Wish-mas"list Loralye or better yet-leave giant post-it notes everywhere you go- in case anyone would like to give you a gift for your new statis as "retired" ~linda~ good luck!! =O)
I had something similar to this with my Brother 2800 machine. When I inserted my flash drive into the machine, it completely turned off. I deleted the most recent files on my flash drive, then the flash drive worked. But you know me Sue, you are the smart person when it comes to computers. Sorry I cannot help you. Hope someone else can. ~Carolyn~
