Very nice, I received a key fob for a gift. It was made to raise money for an animal rescue. I love it.
Very nice. Where do you get the stuff to make them?
Thank-you. http://shop.ebay.com/zjaw24w/m.ht... This is the dealer on e-bay that I got the hardware from. I bought 50 rings, and 50 of the wristlet hardware with free shipping for under $21. Buying each part separately with free shipping was cheaper than buying them together.
Quail, these are great, I have the pattern to do them but cant get the keyfob hardware here in Ireland! Well Done
Oh very nice! How do you make these? I can't begin to think how'd you line everything up on such a thin strip of- is it ribbon? Great job! I like the purple one! *4U
http://www.embroiderygarden.com/s... There is a free file here with placement lines for all sorts of ribbon. When I first tried it on ribbon, I found it very difficult to do. I then thought that I could use a piece of felt. I used a piece about 10X15. I left most of the felt to the right side of the hoop with only about 2" to the left when I hooped it. You need about an inch or one and 1/2 to attach the fobs. I use cutaway for a nice stiff fob, but I am sure you could use other methods. I had previously made myself a file of seven designs in the 5x7 hoop using Reen's placement lines. (I merged files in Embird) I enlarged her placement line file a bit because it is very difficult to find designs that are only 20mm high. I made the first color sew out all placement lines. Then I sewed out each design. When I was done with the embroidery, I took it off the hoop. I cut the felt with a rotary cutter. The placement lines were a guide for me of where to cut. When my strips were all cut, I added Heat and Bond Lite to the back of them. I'm sure you could add spray adhesive or glue or whatever. I then chose a corresponding webbing and joined the two. I used my sewing machine to stitch it down as extra reinforcement. Then, you add the hardware. You can add duct tape to your pliers so as not to damage the hardware. They sew out very fast this way and the lines a very straight. My ribbon was a joke. LOL I am going to make some without embroidery using a bias tape tool for just contrasting colors. I need to get rid of some scraps. hahaha
