Well folks.....not much creativity I could do with an old line...LOL Also had to rearrange the wording a bit because of the small area I had to work in.........I think the munchkins laid out this state.........

We were on the border between the North and South during the Civil. The bay area causes part of the odd shape to the state. Also, some land was given to create Washington DC the nations capital(I have no idea of the date, however). I'm not sure but I think some land also came from Virginia.

Funny, but I grew up in MD in the shadow of Washington, DC but didn't understand the Old Line State title either. Typical kid... Thanks of the fun design, Vicki!

Mason-Dixon line. I get it now. Love the Chesapeake Bay area. I ate my first crabs at Hopkins Crab Shack on the bank of the Susquehanna River at Fort Deposit. I wonder if that Crab Shack is still there? I had moved from a landlocked state so it was a new experience for me in so many ways. Met my future husband there. Thanks for the memories.
