you click on it! But it still worries me! My Norton runs every day & will delete cookies and says I'm ok. I turn off the computer and then when I turn it back on, the "notice" is gone. Just wondered if anyone else was getting this.

Yes I have had this twice this week and both from different sites. The first one I could not remember the name, the second one managed to grab control of my computer even though I did not click on yes. Beware, sometimes these virus pest's set 'No' to mean 'yes' as they know most of us will click the'No'.. and sometimes, it does not matter which you click, once the window opens, it manages to get in. Fortunately I am with 'Bullguard' and they are fantastic. Online support is available 24/7 and it is free. They are worth every penny.

This is the second time they have cleaned up my computer. I posted a warning prior to this one with a link which infected my computer.

I got that same thing and it locked my computer after a while & I had to pay Geek Squad $216.00 to remove the virus, and my antivirus said I was clear of viruses. Geek Squad said it was mal-ware and removed it! Hope I never get it again. I feel for you. Been there, don't want to go back again. Hugs, Judy

Yes! I had it happen to me this week. I'm so thankful for my DH who is much more computer savey than I am! I wish we could identify where these are coming from, so we can avoid the sites.

Yes, I get it several times a month! I shut down my computer right away and run a virus scan when I turn it back on. It always says it is free from virus but I have wondered if it is telling the truth!

just thought you might want to know. Sue

Don't like Nortons. I have still had a virus go through when I was using Nortons. I was told by a Computer person that Nortons can slow down your Computer. Lyn

I haven't had the one you mentioned. But right now there's an advertisement for a Free Trojan Scanner - there's always someone trying to sell you something, just depends on a number of key words on the page. Just ignore it!

Yes that is the one I got last week, but of course it was still there every time I opened Firefox BECAUSE I had set Firefox to RESTORE my previous browsing session, which meant, whatever web-pages I had been viewing when I closed Firefox were RE-opened the next time I opened Firefox.

Other Cuties could not understand this and thought I was BLAMING Firefox!!!!!

It wasn't Firefox per-se, but the viewing options I had chosen.
But I still had to un-install Firefox and every file related to it, so that it wouldn't keep opening the WEB-PAGE with the virus.

It is a very bad virus and you are doing the right thing shutting down your pc.

I also Use Norton's full security package on all our machines but the page with the virus had the Norton's SAFE SITE APPROVAL (little green Norton's Icon) and Norton's did NOT block the page from opening so the Mongrels have found a way to FOOL Norton's.

You just need to be AWARE and pity help inexperience users who don't recognise the dialogue box that pops up, it looks so like a Windows warning!!!!!!
hugs n roses, Meganne

I had a virus a couple of days ago & I too have AVG & fortunately for me jofrog (I think) had just posted some valuable information on what she did to take care of this Sew I followed her lead & got rid of it. She also mentioned that she does a virus scan when she goes to download things. I did this today & I will try to incorporate this in my everyday downloads! My pc is alot more expensive then a couple of freebies from UNKNOWN sites! Not here or sister links either or sites that I have regularly visited in the past. I have a few that I go to on a regular basis & they have been really good.I think too that next time I recommend a freebie site I will do a scan before I recommend it just sew we can all be safe!

I've seen the pop up a few times just as a little side advertisement, not over my screen but know better than to trust anything these days. I have AVG and it is good.

I have not been getting it, but also haven't been on the net a lot lately. Have you done a full scan of your computer? I think it maybe another way to make the statement come true inticing you to click on link. It would be interresting to see what everyone else has to say.
