I make linens and quilts for babies and sell it at the market called The Stables. Since christmas it has been so quite, could barley make my rent for the month. but this Sunday the sun started shining on me, I had a very good day compare to other stall holders. I think lot of people are going to have a baby or preparing for a baby as winter is going to be here soon in S.A.
Something I noticed at the Market last Sunday was the amount of girls who would be 6 months or more pregnant. Can always see one but there were 6 or 7 and they were just the ones showing. Must have been Spring. Lyn
Do not feel too disheartened. I had a small stall for a few years, twice a year here in spain at our club, but folk expect all for nearly free. So I saw the light and stopped doing it, was working for I think 1p an hour if I was lucky lol.
That's the chance we all take, hit & miss. I have a big annual sale that the "Women of Today" put on twice a year. That's usually a good one for me. Maybe you'll do better on the next one.
Yes the Market is always up and down. A lot depends on the weather as well. Lyn
You did everything right. It sounds like it just wasn't a good day for shoppers.
I'm glad you're not as down as you first were. I'm sure things will pick up once the weather improves. Wish I could do more to cheer you up. Hugs and ******
A good sleep does wonders. Every now and then the Market is not as good as other times. Lyn
I went to the Atlanta quilt and sew show this past week end and it was the busiest packed with people I have ever seen, but I noticed an absence of booths and vendors in the past. This is the economy. I only window shopped with a few purchases.
I can only put the bad day down to the weather, but there is a lot happening in Adelaide at the moment. They call it mad March here in South Australia. Lyn
Lyn, that does happen with markets and fairs - that is for sure - especially if there is anything strange in the world happening - as they keep a tight rein on their money in fear of the unknown. Glad you are feeling better about it.
Thought it was me but when my friend told me about her bad day, realised it is not just me.
