seem to leave important things out. I heard more about Ca than Hawaii, which I found a bit dishearting. I hope the people in Hawaii are save.

I'm like sewfrenzie. Japan is very devastated but I would like to know more about OUR west coast and Hawaii. Guess the news is only interested in the worst of it. Wonder if our government has reached out to help our homelands. Pray for all involved in this tragedy.

Thank you for taking the time to update me. I realize Japan is in deep despair and my heart goes out to them. Just thought with all the uplead to the Tsunami they would have said at least as much about Hawaii as they did about the West US Coast and I wasn't finding anyting on the internet.

From what I have heard from a friend on Maui and I have read... the Hawaiian islands nor the west Coast of the US experienced as much damage as was thought to happen. I think you keep hearing about Japan because that is the Country that did suffer the most damage..that is where the epicenter was and that is where most if not all of the after quakes are happening.. I was on Skype this morning (USA morning) with 2 friends in Japan and out of the 30 minutes we were able to chat there were at least 10 small earthquakes... they are located in Yokahama..Which is a couple of hundred miles from the original epicenter.. Some of these quakes (tremors as the media is calling them) measured 6 to 7 on the Richter scale..

I have seen some pictures of the Kona coast section of the Big Island of Hawaii. They had a few areas that were destroyed - one house was swept out to sea. Google Big Island Tsunami & you will find lots of video. No loss of life as far as I know. There was at least one killed on the Calif coast & a couple in OR that got swept out & rescued.
