What a fun depiction of the buckeye state. You're definitely imaginative, Vicki. :) Thanks for another great design.
I had to look this up. Buckeye is a tree and got its name from the Native Americans who noticed that the glossy, chestnut-brown seeds with the lighter circular “eye” looked very similar to the eye of a buck (male) deer. The nut is a glossy brown color and very smooth. The nuts are contained in a spiny hull until they ripen in September. Some considered it to be a good luck charm and also a relief for rheumatism pain if you carry it in your pocket. This is a state with a rich history. cj
An interesting way to depict the buckeye, since it would be difficult to represent. I believe it is really a large brown nut from a tree. I live in Md. but we had one in our yard where we grew up. They sort of reminded me of chestnuts.
